PLANNING NTNG BOARD M MUTES
FEBRUARY 139 1968
The Regular Meeting of the Town of Ithaca Planning Board was held , on
Tuesday ,-'- February 139 1968 at 7130 PoMc tit the Town of Ithaca Offices

The meeting was called to order at 7 : 35 P . Mo by Chairman Desch ,

The following facts were presented :
The surface drainage will not cause additional trouble in the Village
A percentage of the sewer lines have been -reserved for the Schoenfeld
Developmento However , so much has been added that Mr . Schoenfeld feels
that his future is in jeopardy ., There is a question as to whether
Lansing East connected legally Mr . Schoenfeld stressed that the con
tract is invalid if his rights are not ( as is stressed in the contract )
preserved
Roads will be built by Mr . Schoenfeld ,
Mr . Phillips raised the question about contiguous development and its
relationship to proposed multiple residence . Mr . Schwan raised a question
about payment to share sewer cost to which sir . Schoenfeld stated that he
shared as a 1 / 3 portion . The two others are Cornell and the Airport .
A rough map of the proposal was left with the Board ,,
Several property owners from the Pegion LeRoy J . Benoit , Angelo Ro
DiGiacomo , John D , McDonnell , Joseph DiGiacomoc Jro wanted a review
of the situation , The proposal waroreviewed for the g-rout , It was pointed
out that there is a possibility of a 5 � acre park In the R15 portion ,
Mr . Schwan raised a question concerning the legality of a fence at the
IthacamLansing linen The property owners and the Board also discussed
the traffic problem which would result from the rezoning. It was pointed
out that if a road on Cornell property were possible , this would help
alleviate the problem . Considerable discussion surrounded the drainage
pattern and the necessity for storm sewers and curbing in ao°eas as
dense as is envisioned .
Mr . Scannell made a mortion that the Board refuse the rezoning; or' the
20 acre parcel because of the difficulty of transporz .Itinn current1v

Mr . Vasse mtated that if Mr , Schoenfeld can show a plan for roads that
would handle the problem , the Board should hear him0
Mr . .Phillips suggested in contradiction to -the motion that if a roaci

Upon motion by Mr .. Vasse , sec rided b � Thr ., Collins and carried by unanimous

Upon motion by Air . Collins , secs• i :. ed by Mr . Baker and carried by
unanimous vote , the mi ,lutes of t i January 23 meeting were approved .
