PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
JANUARY 7a 1964
The meeting was called to order at 7945 PoMo
Members present were : Chairman Marion , Lacy , Vasse , Perrye
Waring and hells
Also present wereo Howard Stevenson , Robert Williamson ,
Russell Savey and LaGrand Chased
The minutes of the December 3 , 1963 were approved as mailed .
SAVEY SUBDIVISION rire Savey presenters a preliminary sub

Lots layed out alTerage 160 foot to 180 foot frontage and
200 or more foot depthm Approximately 40 Lots total proposed ,
23 of there on the previous Frand property along the Codd
ington Road and 17 located easterly which would have road
tie �in both with Pennsylvania Avenue and Coddington Road *
Id formerly the MacXamee property * There appears to be no
major difficulties with this preliminary plan except for
2 cul �de �sacs which would need shortening or variance , and
a reverse curve which would need engineering , in one access
road locationa Mr . Savey was requested to furnish the
Board with the required engineering drawings SJhich they
can examine and give approval to proceed . The area is
partially zoned R�9 and partially R�30d
CHASE Y-UJLTIPLE, RESIDENCE - Mrs Chase discussed briefly

He was informed that the Board was waiting receipt of

Ordinance , in writing , clarifying the meaning and /or intent
of the Ordinance with. regards -to the permitting of mtnicipal

the map of the Bostwick, Road area , formerly owned by Mr .
Sidenberg9 now owned by Mr . Tomlinson .
After discussion ; Resolution was made by Liguori , seconded
by Va,sse and carried that at the request of Robert Williamson ,
acting for Tompkins County in connection with use of the
above property for County Highway Building and related uses
located as R_q and R�N zones , it is the opinion of this
Board that in accordance with Article 3 , Section 4 , Sub 9
and Article 5 , Section 18, Sub 9 the proposed use is a
permitted one in said zones . Reference used in this
decision was " Urban Land Use Planning " by Chapin , Fm Stuart ,
Jr . , Professor of Planning at North Carolina University
page 208 which defines " MunicipalCounty _ State garages "
as a utility . This is in accordance with above sections .
It was suggested that the Attorney for the Town , after
reviewing said sections and conaurrance with this Board so
notify this Board , the Zoning Officer and Mr . Williamson ,
County Attorney ,

e ast Torn Board action regarding the Five Mile Drive
Industrial Area road development .
