PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
JULY 129 1962
The meeting was called to order at . 7 : 45 P . Pf ®
Members present were : Chairman Liguori , Vasse , Wiggins ,
Perry , Marion , and Bruska .
Also present were : Assessor Robert J . Wellsp John Doughtery ,
John MacLean , Arthur Prince , A . W . Chamberlainp and Thomas
Parker ,,
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed ,,
John MacLean Sub -division =• John MacLean presented prelimin�
ary plans or iision off the Hayts Road . Variances
will be required for lots 1 , 2s 6 , 17p 249 and 25 as they do
not have the dimensions required by the Zoning Ordinance ,
even though they do have the required square . footage . It
was suggested that the curve in the road between lots 2 and 3
be adjusted somewhat giving the required footage to possibly
two lots while not affecting the other lots .
The preliminary plan of the John MacLean -Submdivisioli is' *
accepted as submitted . It must clear with the Health
Department before final approval can be given . The final
Plan should show drainage structures ,,
Eastwood of Ithaca Inc ,, Subdivision Mr . Prince and
Mr . Chamberlain presented a rough drawing of a proposed sub ®
division off Homestead Road . It is a Plot approximately
5131 x 6058 and would be developed into 15 lots ,
All lots would require variances as the dimensions do not
meet the requirements of the Zoning Ordinance , nor does
the s :ivare footage meet requirements . The planning Board
suggested . that lot 16 be eliminated and that the road be ex�
tended easterly to the property line , and the lots be balanced
Off so that all are greater than or approach the 15 , 000 6quare
feet required . Development of this property is ,predicated
on public water and sewage facilities ,, Eastwood , Inc . will
petition to the Town Board,
Franklin Subdivision Phomas Parker appeared before the
Board with the Franklin sub-division plan for review ,
Mr . Parker is planning on developing this for Mr . Franklin ,,
This is anR�30 zone with 1501 x ' 2001 lots required , It was
sug;_, ested *„ hat Mr . Parker have an engineer re�work . the . plan ©
The cul -de -sacs should be eliminated and some of the lot
sizes increased . Public water may be available ,,

Route 96 Re- location Chairman Liguori presented a Regional
Planninr oard map showing four alternate routes for remloca�
tion of Route 96 . Two . routes have a lesser grade and join
the present route above the hospital . Two others have greater
grades and join below the hospital . The Regional Planning
Board would like a recommendation from this Board ,
A motion was made . by Vasse and seconded by Marion that having
reviewed the four alternate routes for the rewlocation of
Route 96 , as - prepared by the Regional Planning Board , , the
Town of Ithaca Planning Board favors Route 14011 and recommends
that the Regional Planning Board continue its efforts to seek
this alignments Carried ,
Water and Sewer Pacilities After a general discussion ,
a motion was made by Wiggins and seconded by Marion that
WHEREAS , it is the conclusion. . of this Board that municipal
water and sewer facilities must be made available to the
residents of the Town of Ithaca in the immediate future ,
be it
RESOLVED that the Planning Board of- the Town of Ithaca
respectfully requests the Town Board to authorize the expendi �
tore of an appropriation sufficient to professionally study
the desirability of developing these services independently
of the City of Ithaca , in cooperation with the City of Ithaca ,
or by annexation to the City of Ithaca'.

Election of Officers A motion was made by Bruska and
secon e y Wiggins that Doran Marion be elected Chairman of
the Planning Board and John Vasse be elected VicemChairman ,
Carried ,
Meeting adjourned at 1000 P . M .
Next meeting will be August 99 1962 at 700 P . M . in the
City Hall Annex '.
