MIRUTES OF PUNNING BOND MEETING
MARCH 42 1959
Present . Watson , Hurst , Liguori , Marion , Phillips , Saunders ,
Vasse and Boynton *
Minutes . of the February meeting were read and accepted . Pero .
Watson welcomed Loren Marion and Byron Saunders as new members
of the Planning Board *
to Richard Perry appeared to seek advice concerning the pos =
sable future d development of his property at the corner of
Bundy and Txumansburg Roads . . It was suggested that he seek
professional. help .
20 Leonard Lieberman and Ee Dahman appeared with a request
thatRemi g on Point on the East shore of Cayuga Lake be re ®
zoned from residential to business or limited businesso Mro
Liberman plans a 100 �unit motel on the 800mfoot frontage to®
gether with such related business as restaurant and marina *
Remington Point is approximately four acres in size and lies
between the lake on the west and railroad on the east , Mr .
Liberman said that he would accept any reasonable controls
which the Planning Board might wish to impose to insure suit ® .

NOTION by Phillips : RESOLVED , that the Chairman of the Plann=
ing Board is empowered to obtain a legal opinion as to whether
' a change of zoning from residential to business can be made
but limited to such uses as are incorporated in the designed
business district , Section 219 as outlined in a revised zon�
ing ordinance of December 229 1958 , specific use being for a
motel , restalarant and marina * SECONDED by Vasse and UNANIm

MOTION by Liguori : RESOLVED , that the Town Planning Board
recommends that the Town Board rezone the plot of land owned
by Le Liberman , known as Remington Points from residential to
business with such legal restrictions as may be necessary to
insure the development of a motel , restaurant and marina in
accordance w,i. th the principals of the proposed revisions of
the Zoning Ordinance Section 21 , dated December 22 , 1958 . :
SECONDED -by Saunders and UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED °
3 , A discussion of the responsibility of the Planning Board
under Section 276 of the Town Law was held . Liguori and
Boynton are to review this section of the law and report at
the next meeting .

4 . A review sof the request . of George Ideman for re = zoning or his
property at the corner of Judd Falls anandEmmis Hollow Roads was
presented .
MOTION by Liguori : RESOLVED , that in order to determine facts
and gain information on the request to rezone the property of : .
George Ideman from residential to business , the Planning Board
shall schedule: a public hearing , inviting adjacent property
owners and all. other persons concerned to submit requests for
similar : re �zoning of adjacent lands . The meeting is to be held
March 25th at 8 : 00 p . m . at the Tompkins County Court House .
SECONDED by Marion and - UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED .
5 . Purther study of the proposed revision of the Zoning Ordin�
ance of the Town of Ithaca was referred to a committee o Va ss e ,
=lips - and Boynton .
6 . A committee on sewage districts was appointed to study exm
tension - of . sewer service in the Town and to make recommendations
to the Supervisor . The committee isjto have Liguori as chair=
man , Saunders and Watson , with Supervisor Gordon to be an ex® .
officio member .
? • A report on the progress of the preliminary master plan was
made .
8 . The Planning Board authorized the Secretary to spend those
funds neoessary to have the minutes of their meetings duplicated .
The meeting was adjourned . Next meeting will be hied April lot
at 8 : 00 p . m , at the Town Barns .
