HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB Minutes 1973-08-27TOWN OP ITHACA ADJOURNED MEETING - August 21, 1973 At an Adjourned Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca, Tompkins County, New York, held at the Town of Ithaca Offices at 108 East Green Street, Ithaca, New York, on the 27th day of AuQUSt« 1973, at SsOO p.m., there were PRESENT: Walter J. Schwan, Supervisor Andrew W. McElwee, Councilman Noel Desch, Councilman ABSENT; Victor Del Rosso, Councilman Robert N. Powers, Councilman ALSO PRESENT: Kenneth Kroohs, Town Engineer-Planner Reynolds Metz, Assistant Zoning Officer Supervisor Schwan said that the purpose of this meeting was to sched ule two public hearings, one with respect to the section on Use Regu lations in Residence Districts R-9, R-15, and R-30, with respect to a two-f^ily dwelling? and the other to consider the advisability of a amending the Zoning Ordinance by rezoning certain parcels of land along the Danby Road. It was intended to consider the wording the two-family section as follows; "A two-family dwelling, provided that the second dwelling unit shall not exceed 50% of the floor area of the primary dwelling ^it. Supervisor Schwan asked the Board if they were satisfied with the 50% provision. They were. Councilman Desch asked why it was necessary to hold these public hearings at this time since a new Zoning Ordinance would soon be completed. Mr. Kroohs indicated there were several cases that were pending which could more suitably come under the proposed changes rather than wait for the new Zoning Ordinance, and the Town would acquire a little experience with the regulation in the interim. Motion by Supervisor Schwan; seconded by Councilman McElwee, ^SOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca hold a public 5:30 p.m. on the 10th day of September, 1973, at the Town Offices at 108 East Green Street, Ithaca, New York, to consider the advisability of amending the Town of Ithaca Zoning Ordinance in the following respects: * 1 P^^^uraph 2, Section 4, Article III? Paragraph 2, Section 11,Article IV? and Paragraph 2, Section 18, Article V,? shall all be fended to read as follows: "A two-family dwelling, provided that the second dwelling unit shall not exceed 50% of the floor area of the primary dwelling unit." Unanimously carried, REZONING OP PARCELS ON DANBY ROAD Motion by Supervisor Schwan? seconded by Councilman McElwee, RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on the 10th day of September, 1973, at the Town Offices at 108 East Green Street, Ithaca, New York, to consider the advisability of rezoning lands along the Danby Road in tax parcels 36-2-2, 36-2-10, and 36-1-20 from R-30 to R-15.
