AiDJOURNED BOARD MEETING
April 23, 1973 - 5i00 p.m.
At an Adjourned Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca,
Tompkins County, New York, held at the Town of Ithaca Offices at
lOo East Green Street, Ithaca, New York, on the 23rd day of April,
1973, at 5:00 p.m., there were

The meeting was called to order at 5:20 p.m.
HAAG & WHITE REZONING
The Supervisor reviewed the fact that the public hearing with regard
to the request of Messrs. Hasig & White for a rezoning of 8.37 acres
of land on Five Mile Drive and Pidler Road from R-.9 and R-30 to
Multiple Residence, held on April 9, 1973 bad been adjourned to
April 16, 1973, and adjourned further to April 23, 1973. The Haag
& White request is based on a plan dated March 8, 1973. The public
hearing was adjourned and continued to give Haag & White an oppor
tunity to apply to the Town of Ithaca Zoning Board of Appeals for
a variance or special approval to get relief from the height require
ment of the Town of Ithaca Zoning Ordinance.
Supervisor Schwan read a motion made by the Town of Ithaca Zoning
Board of Appeals on April 18, 1973, as follows:
MOVED by Mr. Jack Hewett that the Zoning Board of Appeals
of the Town of Ithaca grant Special Approval to Messrs.
Haag and White for construction of apartment units at
Five Mile Drive and Fidler Road, Town of Ithaca, N. Y.,
said units being three stories high on the road side and
two stories high on the rear. Such Special Approval is
subject to the transfer of title of land presently owned
by Arthur Prince to said Messrs. Haag and White.
SECONDED by Mr. Roger Sovocool
The vote was unanimous. Carried.
After the reading of this resolution, the Town Board of the Town of
Ithaca acted as follows:
Motion by Supervisor Schwan; seconded by Councilman powers,
resolved, that the Town Board of the Town of Ithaca hereby rezones
8,37 acres of land of Messrs. Haag and White on Five Mile Drive and
Fidler Road from R-9 and R-30 to Multiple Residence for the construc
tion of 30 units of apartment housing in two buildings, Messrs. Haag
and White having been granted Special Approval by the Zoning Board
of Appeals of the Town of Ithaca, based on plans submitted to them,
to build three stories high on the roadside and two stories high on
the rear, said Special Approval being subject to the transfer of
title of land presently owned by Arthur Prince to said Messrs. Haag
and White.
The metes and bounds of the said rezoned area are as follows:
Commencing at -felw point in the center of Five Mile Drive which is
525' north of the intersection of the centers of Fidler Road and
Five Mile Drive; running thence westerly 290*; running thence
northerly approximately 177 feet to the southerly line of property

formerly of C. S. Colegrove at a point which is 310 feet westerly
from the center line of Five Mile Drive; running thence westerly
along said southerly line approximately 491 feet to the east line
of Military Lot No. 8I; thence southerly along said lot line a
distance of approximately 620 feet to the northwesterly corner of
Pidler Road; thence easterly along the northside of Pidler Road 178',
then 50' southerly along an east side oi Pidler Road, then 56' easter
ly to the corner of property now or formerly of Arthur Prince; then
northerly along the west line of said Prince property a distance of
150' to a corner; thence easterly to the center of Five Mile Drive
approximately 492'; then a distance of 345' northerly along the center
of Five Mile Drive to the point or place of beginning.
The above property contains 8.371 acres.
The Town Clerk is directed to publish this resolution in the Ithaca
Journal and the foregoing resolution shall constitute an amendment
to the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Ithaca, and shall take effect
10 days after the publication thereof pursuant to Section 264 of the
Town Law.
Unanimously carried.
