Due to the urgency of the situation the Bill Auble Construction Company under Sunervision of Bill 0'Boyle was asked to dig in and locate the difficulty. The line was found to be frozen where it crossed beneath the highway due to inadequate depth coverage. This brought up the question of responsibility of payment for the work involved, 1) should the Town take responsibility 2) should the property owner assume the debt or the contractor from whom the new property owner purchased the property 3) should the district share in what appears to be a malinstallation? 1-15-68 n n 0 \ It appeared to be the consensus of the Board that the contractor should be held liable for this expense inasmuch as the line was not laid the necessary depth. Town Engineer-- More than ever before it now is the contention of the Board that a Town Engineer is much in need to keep in contact with the rapid development which is now taking place in the Town and that construction specifications and acceptable practices are adhered to, to aid in the elimination of any malconstruction which might prove to be detrimental to the Town in the future. The Board members were asked to recommend eligible candidates for this position and report at the next meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6:45 P.M, 1-15-68 Myrtie M.
