CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
June 4, 2025

MINUTES
1. Call Meeting to Order
Present: Ed Dubovi, Robyn Bailey, Travis Kitch, Lisa Scanlon
Excused Absence: John Fleming, Todd Walters, John Hatfield, Brian Boerman
Non-CAC attendees: Christine Montague, Town Board, Jerry Zhang, CCE, Siobhan Hull, CCE
A quorum of the CAC members was not present.
2. Discussion on the implementation of the Climate Smart Communities program
Continued discussion on implementation of CSC program. Sub-committee has not had a chance to
meet with town staff to formulate a plan for moving forward. Suggested that student group develop
an educational presentation on invasive species. Jerry indicated that CCE was no lo nger going to be
administering the CSC contract. Waiting on info as to new contact person.
3. With the approval of the Open Space Conservation Plan, the CAC has met the NYS requirements for
consideration of being redesignated as a Conservation Boad (CB). Concerns about the availability of
resources to carry out the review process were discussed at a Town Board meeting. A meeting with the
Town of Ithaca CB will be arranged to discuss their program
4. The EMC of Tompkins County has finished a review of the UNA maps and will be giving presentations
to town boards in the summer and fall. Town of Lansing presentation is scheduled for the July 16,
Town Board meeting.
5. July 2nd CAC meeting will be cancelled.
