Randall, Planning Director Heather Dries, Code Clerk 16 17 Co-Chair Tom Butler opened the meeting at 6:32 pm 18 19 Approved the February 4, 2020 CAC meeting minutes. 20 21 Public Comments via email to tolcodes@lansingtown.com 22 - No Public Comments by email before or while meeting was live streaming on YouTube 23 at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCs2FgU2xFnDVGS8DwXgoJwA 24 25 Parks, Recreation, and Trails— FYI (part of CAC's mandate to interconnect) 26 o The Virtual Public Meeting discussed how the parks could be improved. 27 o There was not much discussion on Bell Station, except that it should be preserved. 28 o There is a need for public access to the lake, however not at the expense of losing local 29 gems, safety, and cleanliness. 30 o There was a proposed trail around the perimeter of the Town Ball Fields 31 o C.J. is seeking funding through Parks100.This would increase accessibility and other 32 features at Myers, including restrooms. 33 Current Steps for CAC: Need worker beavers! 34 - Revisit Town of Lansing Resolution 19-49 that created the CAC:Tom Butler 35 o This will ensure the CAC is fulfilling their duties so they will be on track to transform into 36 a Board,which will give them more power. 37 o The Open Space Index will need to be completed.This would also require public input. 38 o There are some concerns over sacrificing quality for speed. Other examples are much 39 more complete. Page 1 of 2 40 o The CAC would like to know more about their reserved funding and grants available to 41 possibly get assistance from a consultant. 42 - Finalize Natural Resource Inventory,with Scenic Resource/Open Space Index 43 o Scenic Resource: Karen will add photos and provide a viewshed analysis,Tom will work 44 on getting more photos, either from John G. or by taking new photos. 45 ■ C.J. will check with the consultants for availability regarding the 10-12, 360- 46 degree photo sites. 47 ■ Possibly have placeholders for sites until we can get a photo in the preferred 48 season. 49 0 The interactive map is not permanent. It can be transferred into the Town 50 account,which would allow it to be permanent. 51 ■ Robyn can create a template for a write up on a few sites, and then each person 52 can create the write up for their own sites. 53 - Clean Energy Communities Leadership Round: 54 o There is a point system for municipalities to earn grants. 55 o The CAC would work with Terry Carroll from the Cornell Cooperative Extension for this 56 project.Tom will reach out to Terry. 57 58 Co-Chair Tom Butler called the meeting to be Adjourned at 8:45 pm. 59 60 Minutes taken and executed by Heather Dries.
