Parks, Recreation, and Trails— FYI (part of CAC's mandate to interconnect)
o The Virtual Public Meeting discussed how the parks could be improved.
o There was not much discussion on Bell Station, except that it should be preserved.
o There is a need for public access to the lake, however not at the expense of losing local
gems, safety, and cleanliness.
o There was a proposed trail around the perimeter of the Town Ball Fields
o C.J. is seeking funding through Parks100.This would increase accessibility and other
features at Myers, including restrooms.
Current Steps for CAC: Need worker beavers!
- Revisit Town of Lansing Resolution 19-49 that created the CAC:Tom Butler
o This will ensure the CAC is fulfilling their duties so they will be on track to transform into
a Board, which will give them more power.
o The Open Space Index will need to be completed. This would also require public input.
o There are some concerns over sacrificing quality for speed. Other examples are much
more complete.

o The CAC would like to know more about their reserved funding and grants available to
possibly get assistance from a consultant.
- Finalize Natural Resource Inventory, with Scenic Resource/Open Space Index
o Scenic Resource: Karen will add photos and provide a viewshed analysis,Tom will work
on getting more photos, either from John G. or by taking new photos.
■ C.J. will check with the consultants for availability regarding the 10-12, 360-
degree photo sites.
■ Possibly have placeholders for sites until we can get a photo in the preferred
season.
0 The interactive map is not permanent. It can be transferred into the Town
account, which would allow it to be permanent.
■ Robyn can create a template for a write up on a few sites, and then each person
can create the write up for their own sites.
- Clean Energy Communities Leadership Round:
o There is a point system for municipalities to earn grants.
o The CAC would work with Terry Carroll from the Cornell Cooperative Extension for this
project.Tom will reach out to Terry.
