Thank you for meeting with me to discuss internship opportunities for Cornell students with
the Town of Lansing as your organization reviews and updates its Comprehensive Plan.
Attached, please find a proposal identifying the student team that the Cornell Institute for
Public Affairs and the Cornell Department of City & Regional Planning are recommending

TECHNICAL APPROACH AND SCOPE OF SERVICES
•
With direction from the Town of Lansing Board and the Town of Lansing Planning Board as lead
agencies, two (2) interns attached to this project will conduct quantitative and qualitative research
to update the Town of Lansing Comprehensive Plan. Services will include, but not be limited to:
• Updating of all useful and applicable demographic information.
• Updating of all useful and applicable assumptions.
• Updating of all useful and applicable economic indicators.
• Retention and organization of public and lead agency comment as received.
• Production of draft and final versions of the Town of Lansing Comprehensive Plan.
• Submission of both draft and final plans in hard and electronic copy.
• Attendance at all public and lead agency meetings on the Comprehensive Plan.
SCHEDULE
Although interns will comply with the timeline established by the Town of Lansing Board and the
Town of Lansing Planning Board, they will also participate in individual meetings with lead
agency principals and Town of Lansing administrative staff as necessary.

Tuesday, March 8, 7 :00 PM
• Public Hearing on Comprehensive Plan Facilitated by Community Dispute Resolution Center.
Friday, April 1
• Presentation of Draft Comprehensive Plan to lead agency and/or lead agency principals and/or
Town of Lansing administrative staff.
Monday, May 9
• Presentation of Final Plan.
