2 A.86 Planned Development Area (2)
0 Viola Miller: I think that 2-acre is ridiculous . Any kind of a PDA on 2-acre is ridiculous .
4 Bud Shattuck: The problem we had with this is, we don ' t have any other place to put a spot density housing that
5 might fit on a 2 acre spot.
6 Viola Miller: I think you can make a variance of some sort if something like that comes up . It seems to me that if
7 you have something that your going to have landscaping, parking and all of the things you needed for things
8 under a PDA, which is primarily suppose to be a combination of commercial and residential . That was the way it
9 was originally done, and then we went to commercial and now we ' re are back to residential . I think this is one of
10 the things that bother people about a PDA. You can just put anything in instead of being able to say what it ' s
11 suppose to be (Landscaping, Parking) . I ' ve never seen what you ' re going to put in on 2 acres unless your going to
12 put a fast food something in and I don ' t believe you ' ll do that under a PDA.
13 Bud Shattuck: My only contention with it is, how do we deal with certain things that we want to put in? 2 acres
14 or 5 acres, I' m not sure where there is a lot of difference . If you ' re trying to put in a high-density residential
15 complex, maybe we should just go for a variance .
16 En Davidson: I think with the personality of the town any variance and public hearing it' ll take care of itself The
17 idea that we should complicate it with the idea that a developer can come in with a PDA on 2 acres.
18 Viola Miller: Why not just leave out the acreage.
19 Bud Shattuck: I 'm not sure 5 acres is adequate for a number of things.
20 Lin Davidson : Then you ' ll have people coming in trying to do a PDA on 1 acre . It' ll get out of hand. Our current
21 problem is one of not mixed use nothing special
22 Bud Shattuck: So you want to put a parcel of adequate acreage?
Viola Miller: We always go back to the first one , which was successfully done
