It also serves as an advisory body to the Town Board _ in its advisory rola , the Planning Board drafted an updated Comprehensive Plan in 1994 after extensive input by the 201 d Committee and other local groups and residents . The Town Board moved adoption of that Plan in 1994 _ Lansing ' s original Land Use Control Ordinance was adopted in June 1973 . The many discussions have drawn a variety of opinions and expressions of disagreement . The issues of land use regulations are contentious and there is no easy path to consensus . • The Town Board is elected to carry out executive direction ofihc towns governance. The Town Board has not evaded its responsibility in dealing with the zoning amendments proposal ; they have read the draft, net with residents and the Planning Board , revised the draft and revised again after discussions , They have set the matter for public hearing. Now, it does not matter whether a particular line or paragraph was created by a citizen suggestion, by the Town Board or the Planning Board , It is a Town of Lansing proposal which is presented with .the consensus and support of To Planning Board which hopes to see it adopted as a living document with a chance to grow some roots .
