Peter Larson, Highway Superintendent, drove the Planning Board through ® the Town to discuss the proposed zoning districts . The meeting reconvened back at the Lansing Town Hall Board Room at 7 : 30pm . The following changes were a result of the discussions and observations taken during the road tour. Tom Niederkorn stated the changes to the Zoning Map are as follows : At the intersection of Buck Road and Van°strand Road, R1 District will be 300 feet East of VanOstrand Road going South to Route 34B , then turning East on Route 34B , will remain 300 feet North of Route 34B until the Town line at Scufield Road . Parcel #31 - 1 - 17 (Hilliard property) was changed from R1 to B1 . On Drake Road off of Route 34, BI District will begin behind tax map parcel #37. 1 - 1 - 12 (Lansing Inn) 300 feet North going West on Drake Road then making the curve and heading North staying 300 feet East until it rejoins B1 District at Route 34B . A corridor 300 feet on each side of Drake Road will remain R2 District. From Drake Road, B1 District will continue 300 feet South of Route 34B North to parcel #32- 1 - 54, then North to the centerline of Route 34B, then West to parcel #32- 1 -47. B1 will continue around parcel #32- 1 -47 (The Gas Station) to the centerline of Myers Road, then North to the ® centerline of Route 34B, continue West to the West line of the Lansing School property. B1 will W follow the property line around the Lansing Middle School. across Ludlowville Road still Town of Lansing Planning Board Monday, September 23, 1996 Page 2 V following school property behind the Lansing High School to Brickyard Road. B 1 District will continue down the center line of Brickyard Road until it reaches Buck Road . From the intersection of Buck Road and Brickyard Road , B1 District will be 300 feet East on Route 34B heading South until it rejoins the B1 District approximately across from Portland Point Road . Larry Sharpsteen summarized that the reason the Planning Board chose to change the District around the schools from RI to B I is that the uses the school puts on their land are not allowed in R1 and they are in Bl . It was discussed that a collector road could be put into place along Route 34B from Portland Point Road toward Myers Road to eliminate driveways every 200 feet. A traffic corridor could be considered with site plan review with future development in that B1 District. The Planning Board agreed that as soon as Tom Niederkorn had the new changes noted in the Zoning Ordinance and a new map drawn up, it could be presented to the Lansing Town Board and a joint meeting scheduled after that.
