Beckwith , L . Hirvonen , C . Kammen , F . Ramin , L . Sharpsteen Absent : J . Homa , V . Miller Also Present : Bob Kemple , Ordinance Office ; Gary Wood ; various Town of Lansing citizens ( see appended list of attendees ) . Item # 1 . A motion was made by F . Ramin , seconded by L . Sharpsteen , to approve the Minutes of 3 / 9 / 87 . Passed . Item # 2 . Proposed County landfill sites in Lansing reported on to board : A . Dave Hardy ' s land B . " Second spot " on Conlon Road Item # 3 . Don Carroll , 508 Auburn Road , owns old Town barn and asked if the Planning Board had talked about any contingency action regarding removing restrictions on traffic - - two years old . No action taken by the Board at that time . • Item # 4 . A Public Hearing was held regarding Miles Munson ' s proposed minor subdivision on Searles Road . Various citizens raised questions concerning ' drainage problems , condition and maintenance of road with added traffic , need of sandfills , depth of ditches , etc . Mr . Munson indicated he plans to sell lots for single- family homes ( no trailers ) . He will be constructing these homes . The proposed lots will drain to the east , away from existing homes . The public hearing was closed . No action at this time taken by the Planning Board due to the lack of a survey map . It was noted that all residents living or owning property on Searles Road should be notified of any future public hearings . Eleven persons attended the hearing . Item # 5 . A Public hearing was held regarding Mile ' s Munson ' s proposed minor subdivision on Buck Road . No persons were in attendance . Mr . Munson has not yet completed the required survey of land because of the amount of land to be sold . If a buyer wants more land , what is the use of a survey , he asked . A survey is required by the Planning Board along with Health Department approval . The public hearing was closed . No action was taken at this time by the Board . Item # 6 . A Public Hearing was held regarding Dick & Sonia Thaler ' s major subdivision , Whispering Pines , Phase 5 , two lots . There were five residents in attendance . They expressed concern about groundwater contamination and the • continued handling of sewer and water . Mr . Thaler explained that the development has a ten- year time frame . Until there is public sewer and water , individual wells • and septic, systems will handle new lots as they are developed . The Planning Board noted that Mr . Thaler still has to provide : A . Town Engineer ' s approval B . Health Department ' s approval C . County Highway Department ' s approval The, public hearing was closed . The Planning Board voted to table action pending Tompkins County Highway Department approval . The motion was made by H . Beckwith and seconded by Sharpsteen . Item # 7 . Gregg F . Travis appeared before the Board to ask permission to sell a seven-acre parcel of land on Luce Road and Town Line Road . No action necessary by the Planning Board . • Item # 8 . Mr . Patrick Fiella of Farrell Road came before the Board regarding . a proposed subdivision of his land on the south side of Farrell Road into four or five lots -- all over three acres each . The sketch shows Lots 1 & 2 , 4 & 5 . Lot 3 is not a subdivision . If plan is developed in this manner , then it could be interpreted as two minor subdivisions . L . Hirvonen made a motion , seconded by C . Kammen , to accept the preliminary plat with the following points : A . Size and shape of lots do not meet design standards . re - su4cyi' s•;649 • B . Include deed restrictions barring future t of lots as presently shown . A Public Hearing was scheduled for Monday , 11 May 1987 . Item # 9 . Mr . David Flinn of 847 Ridge Road appeared before the Board . Mr . iFT nn is giving two pieces of his property to his sons . One lot is 9 . 5 ± acres , the other 14 . 8± acres . Both have road frontage of 300± feet . No action was necessary by the Planning Board . It was noted that the Planning Board is against strip development . Item # 10 . L . Hirvonen reported on her visit to the March Town Board meeting . the Town Board passed a resolution against any County Landfill being in the Town of Lansing . . The meeting of the Town of Lansing Planning Board was adjourned at 10 : 20 p . m .
