TOWN OF LANSING PLANNING BOARD

I. Minutes
February 11, 1980
T. Kick moved' to accept, P. Wells seconded, approved unanimously.
II. Fiddler's Green Subdivision - Arno Finkdl,dey
D. Hardie read letter from Finkeldey asking for a 6 month extension for
the preliminary- plat approval .
D. Hardie: Spoke with P. Munson about the Town Board becoming more definite
as to what conditions constitute a road for the Town to maintain.
L. Sharpsteen and D. Hardie to look at the road on the Finkeldey property .
L. Sharpsteen has already mentioned he won't approve the additional culverts
Finkeldey has , as they are of poor material quality.
L. Sharpsteen to get a copy of maps of Fiddler's Green Subdivision and a
request from the Planning Board for an inspection.
T. Kick moved to approve the requested extension of the Fiddler's Green
Subdivision preliminary plat until September 1, 1980, with a written com-
pletioh report to be submitted to the P.B. by Finkeldey before July 1, 1980.
B. Briggs seconded, approved unanimously.
L. Hirvonen to notify Finkeldey by letter of this information.
III . Sam Baughman
Presented information of land dividing he is doing on his property. The
proposed plan does not fall within the jurisdiction of the Subdivision
Rules and Regulations, therefore P. B. action unnecessary. Mr. Baughman
was thanked for his courtesy in bringing it to the attention of the,.P.B.
IV. Mass Mailing to Residents
1. Final copy was presented to the P.B. and accepted.
2. Postage - save $40 if sent as a bulk mailing. Mr. Wells felt it
would have-more impact if sent 1st class. The P.B. accepted Mr.
Wells' recommendation.
3. Challenge Industries will print letter, fold, stuff, address and
postmark envelope for approximately $627 for 2000 letters sent.
4. L. Hirvonen suggested that volunteers might be willing to address
the envelopes and thus save the P.B. $160.00.
P. Wells moved to disburse the necessary funds to make a mass mailing to
residents of the Town of Lansing informing them of rules, regulations
and ordinances. L. Montague -seconded,approved unanimously. L. Hirvonen
and P. Wells will decide if volunteer workers can handle the addressing
or if Challenge will do the whole project.
V. Reports to Harry Missirian for- Comprehensinve Plan - from Service Organizations
.T. Kick - Sr. Citizens - unable to contact V. Argetsinger or S. Clark .
- Catholic Church - unable to contact anyone and after speaking
with. Harry, he doesn't want any religious comments in the Plan.
B. Briggs - Recreation Committee - unable to contact anyone .

+ - Park Commissioner - Eric Trotter but obtained no information.
- L. Sharpsteen - Comments on Warren Road if goes as planned
at present time;
1. to extend Snyder Road to meet the new Warren Road
2. : bring Warren Drive straight through to the -new Snyder
Road extension for easier snow removal .
Also would like to see a rough draft of the Plan before any
further comments are made.
L. Hirvonen: Concerned for lack of information from Harry Missirian at the
last meeting. Also concerned that he was telling the P.B. the
plans rather than asking for our input and suggestions.
D. Hardie: To call Harry to see when the promised rough drafts of Plan
will be ready for us to examine.
VI. Unsightly Properties
. D. Hardie: Concerned for future of Argetsinger's Gas -Station, Mobile
Station in South Lansing and old Red-.and White Store, which
are now vacant.
T. Kick: Concerned with the party on Triphammer Road where abandoned
cars have been left and mounds of dirt are piled.
D. Hardie: To report to Town Board our concern with several unsightly
places in our town.
1. Malone property on Triphammer Road
2. Mobile Station in South Lansing - a health hazard
3. Burned Building in Lake Ridge
VII . Census
P. B. needs to promote the information.
L. Hi.rvonen: To check with N. Stanton as to what P.B. can do, and for him
to realize we support his efforts with the census.
B. Briggs: Suggested information be put in the Lansing Observer to
publi'cfze the .necessity of the census.
L. Hirvonen: To ask N. Stanton some questions about privacy and refusal
of questions when census is taken.
T. Kick moved to adjourn , B. Briggs seconded, approved unanimously
