I . Assumptions - Discussion of Specific Areas
A . Population Rate
D . Hardie concern for the numbers which Harry then explained .
B . Utilities
Harry : Village of Lansing is to do a sewer study , possibly the Town of
Lansing should work with them to see what their study develops .
To be added to comprehensinve plan writing : ' in the absence of utilities
the following will happen ' .
C . Housing
Underline the modular home sentence .
Eliminate the last sentence of housing , with a positive statement .
D . Human Resources

This section has been revised by Harry , however to aid him with further
information , comments were given based on the first copy .
Great concern for ' one out of six individuals ' accuracy for this area .
Harry will look into this information from the Mental Health Board .
Concern for statistics about past and not necessarily looking to the
future goals and objectives .
Concern for a statement to be included which states our town ' s society problems
are inclusive in the nation ' s present society .
E . Public Safety
Concern for the information pertaining to County and not specifically for the
Town of Lansing .
Concern for adequate street lighting to be added somewhere in this area .
Concern for adequate law enforcement .
F . Education
Information from educators to be given to Harry to revise and include .
II . Finkledoy ' s Subdivision
Harry will look into time frame of drainage and where Finkleday is at with the flow

Depth , water table , drainge , slope , and permeability all effect the
I limitation of the soil to accomodate sewage handling .

T . Kick questioned the meaning of ' water table ' in relation to drinking water .
In looking at these limitations , we can see what the land can handle in the
future and what we need to limit in our development .
IV . Gary Lamont ' s Information
National Resource Inventory
1967 - 77 approximately 67 , 000 acres were lost to urban development in N . Y .
There are approximately 52 , 960 acres of agriculture in Tompkins County and
Lansing has a great deal of that amount .
V . Harry ' s Maps
Showed maps of town with many points of interest for development , and some new
maps have been added .
Harry is working on some information to show what would happen to Lansing if no
• new rules and regulations are developed , and if the opposite were to happen .
L . Hirvonen moved to ask M . Shaleby to do any typing and have copying done at
Acrographics . T . Kick seconded and approved unanimously .
L . Hirvonen mentioned our need to get as much done as possible before the end of
the year .
D . Hardie to check on money to be encumbered for printing , and to call Acrographics
concerning billing us for any printing done .
A copy of any changes in the packet of information Harry presented tonight , is
to be given to Harry after December 10 , 1979 meeting .
