HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-04-26 477175-- April 26 , 1979 Mr . David Hardy , Chairman Town Board Town Hall L ansing , New York 14882 D ear Mr . Hardy . I would like to express my concern about the number of trailers that are being installed by Ted Keeney along the north end of Van Ostrand Road . The reason for my concern is twofold . First , it does not appear that Mr . Keeney has met town ordinance standards for license , health or highway requirements for the trailer park construction that is ..underway . I would respectfully ask that this situation be investigated as soon as possible . Second , the impact of installing the trailer park has already begun to affect the surrounding neighborhood in that the area is more littered than in the past and , of course , more crowded . I realize that Mr . Keeney has a right to do what he wants with 0 his property . However , I wonder if his neighbors do not have similar rights to protect their own property and the quality of the neighborhood and environment . I personally moved to Lansing for the solitude of the countryside , t he friendship of the the rural community , the opportunity to raise my animals in a peaceful and secure environment and the chance to preserve the historical character and setting of the community . Obviously the creation of a trailer park community alters this situation and could change it dramatically if allowed to d evelop uncontrolled . One trailer would be fine , but a trailer park established solely for the profit of one individual is quite another thing . Its development affects everyone in the area . For these reasons , I would respectfully ask the town Board to consider this situation and find a way to have Mr . Keeney meet t he requirements of the town ordinance and to balance the interests of one property owner with the interests of othersin the community around him . Thank you very much for your consideration . S . - / e yagi, Jo Ad CCs Mr . Stanton Mr . Munson ' Mr . Keeney -
