EDMONDSON Discussed the possibility that County planning will take
over , and the effect of this on Lansing ' s planning .
• SHOWACRE Had received a telephone call from Mr . Peters stating that PRE -APPLICATION
Mr . Drogin would continue to work with this Board . The first
week in November he had received a letter from Mr . Drogin MEETING
indicating that he had been assigned to the pre - application
meeting for the Town of Lansing and asked to have a meeting
scheduled soon . He is available to meet with the Planning
Board any time after November 15 . Monday , November 27th ,
was accepted as a satisfactory meeting date . This will be
a joint meeting with the Town Board .
MILLER Upon finding that the regular Board meeting had been can- TOWN OM?
celed , she had telephoned each of the members of the Town
Board and obtained their full support and then had presented
the plan to them at a special meeting , at which it was ac -
cepted . Mr . Seymour Smidt and some of the other men had de -
signed the questionnaire , as members of the Planning Council .
She had enlisted the help of approximately fifty volunteers
to do the surveys in their respective neighborhoods . The re -
turns have been satisfactory , and cooperation has been phe -
nomenal .
She had also discussed with the Town Board the matter of a REPLACEMENT
replacement for Mr . Herbert Ley . It was the sense of the
Lansing Town Planning Board that the Town Board had had FOR
• sufficient time to present a replacement , and that this
Board should now submit a list of names of suitable replace - HERBERT LEY

SHOWACRE Mentioned the equipment necessary for the new Water House , NEW EQUIPMENT
and itwas the sense of the Board that the funds for this
should be spent from the current budget if possible .
ETTINGER A trailer park is being established on the Cayuga County TRAILER PARK
Tompkins County line , but in the Town of Lansing . Mr ..
Ettinger did not know whether it is a park for camper
trailers or for trailer homes . He will find out the name
of the owner and request a copy of the park plan .
Brought up the matter of a fire house for the south end of FIRE HOUSE
Lansing . The thought is to have this located in the Re -
search Park area , but nothing definite has been decided .
Cornell would be willing to have it located there if that
is the ultimate decision of the Fire Board . In that loca-
• tion there is adequate land and an available water supply ,
and the potential for manning the fire house day and night ,
as well as other advantageous conditions .
Had attended the public hearing several weeks ago on this JUNKYARD AND
Ordinance . A week and one day remain in which to register
the opinion of this Board . The Ordinance as it stands DUMP ORDINANCE
would cover only private property , not service stations or
junk dealers . The meeting of the Town Board to discuss
this will be November 21 , 1967 .
SHOWACRE The Board should push for some strong formal subdivision SUBDIVISION
regulations . It was the sense of the Board that professional
subdivision regulations should be in effect , and that for REGULATIONS
this purpose someone must be hired , the payment for this to
come out of the current budget .
MOTION by Mr . Ettinger , seconded , to ask Mr . Niederkorn to
proceed with subdivision regulations within the budget . This
was followed by discussion , in which it was decided that Mr .
Showacre would contact Mr . Niederkorn as soon as possible to
determine that this will actually be within the budget . A
roll -call vote was then taken , with the following result :
• Mr . Cima Yes Mr . Ettinger Yes
Mr . Edmondson Yes Mrs . Miller Yes
Mr . Showacre Yes
