Hello Lansing, how are you today?
Many wonderful projects are happening in Lansing! These are a few of them.
1. Milton Meadows (located on Louise Bement Lane, across from the town ballfields) continues to build their
complex. When completed, Milton Meadows will consist of 10 buildings. Nine buildings will have eight units
each for a total of 72 units. The tenth building will be a community center for their residents. The Lansing
Trail system will still be respected and functional.
2. The Robert Baker BBQ Pavilion. Money has been donated from the Baker family to purchase the necessary
building materials for this project. Members of our very talented highway department are constructing the
pavilion now. It is intended for water and electricity to be available. Also, lighting will be installed for added
nighttime security for the adjacent parking lot. In the very near future it will be fully functional.
3. Speaking of fully functional, the dugouts are in full use. This is another example of a private-public
partnership. Money was provided for the materials through private fundraising and our town employees
finished the work.
4. Salmon Creek has finally been dredged from the mouth at Cayuga Lake to the railroad crossing. Mother
Nature finally gave the highway department a window to complete this task. Thank you Crickett (our highway
superintendent) for your leadership and working weekends to insure that the task was completed.
5. The Salt Point Brewery has made an offer to purchase some of the town land located across from the
town’s ballfields. As you may recall, they are presently renting a small building located next to Rogues
Harbor. Hopefully, by next year at this time they will have built their new brewery and it will be fully
functional. Our business district will have another anchor on Auburn Road.
6. Lansing is open for business! Please think local when shopping. Our business district is growing. Lansing has
a chiropractor, many taverns, restaurants (subs, pizza, finger foods, full dinners and take out) We also have
businesses that sell and service vehicles. We have dog groomers and also a liquor store. Our businesses can
be found on our town’s website by touching the billboard. Keeping our money in Lansing simply builds
financial strength in our community.
Lansing continues to grow STRONGER everyday!
Thank you, Ed LaVigne, Lansing Town Supervisor

accordingly and recover as quickly as
possible to pre-disaster conditions. This
training course will provide an introduction

A Note from Planning Department/Code Enforcement Office
Greetings from the Town of Lansing Code Enforcement & Planning Office! Clerk Sue Munson, Code
Enforcement Officer Lynn Day, and Director of Planning C.J. Randall invite you to call or stop by with
questions or concerns about maps, housing (including building permits and other land development),
transportation, natural resources, agriculture, economic development, tourism, and utilities including
stormwater management. The Office provides professional planning and technical services regarding
the Town’s land use, infrastructure, and cultural and natural resources to appointed and elected
officials as well as the Town residents and the general public.
Public stewardship of land use is one of the most important functions of local government as it
directly affects quality of life, economic development, and the environment. To this end, Town of
Lansing Code Enforcement & Planning Office coordinates all aspects of the Town’s planning and
development review laws – including the Land Use Ordinance – which are established by the Town
Board and applied to individual projects by the Planning Board. The Code & Planning Office
coordinates compliance with the Land Use Ordinance for building permits, including such elements as
district use parameters, property line setbacks, and structure locations. The Zoning Board of Appeals
grants variances from those requirements on a case-by-case basis.
We are seeking applicants to serve on the Town’s newly established Conservation Advisory Council.
Conservation Advisory Councils (CACs) advise the Town Board, Planning Board, and Zoning Board of
Appeals on matters related to the environment. CACs provide a scientific perspective on land use
planning and decision-making. Members should have the time and willingness to work on CAC tasks,
namely the preparation of a Town-wide Natural Resources Inventory and open space index, and
willingness and ability to work cooperatively with other municipal agencies. It is helpful to have some
members with knowledge and experience in the environmental sciences, planning, engineering, or
law but there are no minimum professional qualifications.
For more information on any of these topics, please contact the Town of Lansing Code Enforcement
& Planning Office at 607-533-7054 or tolcodes@lansingtown.com.
