Adjournment HAPPY NEW YEAR 261 262 December 30, 2004 The Lansing Town Board met in Special Session at the Lansing Town Hall Board Room at 12:00 p.m. with Supervisor Farkas presiding. The Supervisor called the meeting to order and had the clerk take the Roll Call. Audit Approval: 04 -237 RESOLUTION, offered by Mr. Christopher and seconded by Mrs. Wilcox: RESOLVED, that the bookkeeper is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following bills: Audited Vouchers: 1387 -1453 PrePaid Vouchers: 1387 +1448 FUND TOTAL APPROPRIATIONS General Fund 233076.23 Highway Fund 313, .365.67 Lansing Water Districts 66.65 Cherry Road Sewer 32.41 Better Housing for Tompkins County 125616.96 Vote of Town Board ... (Aye) Stephen Farkas, Supervisor APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A copy of the minutes of December 15, 2004, having been furnished to the Board members beforehand, the Supervisor asked for a motion to make corrections or to accept the same as submitted. 04 -238 RESOLUTION, offered by Mr. McEver and seconded by Mr. Shattuck: RESOLVED, that the minutes of December 15, 2004 are hereby approved as submitted. Carried. RECOGNITION OF CAROL KAMMEN: Mr. Shattuck stated that he would like to recognize Carol Kammen for being named the top historian in New York State. 263 Continued, December 30, 2004 All Board Members agreed with Mr. Shattuck. APPOINTMENT OF VIOLA MILLER: 04 -239 RESOLUTION, offered by Mr. McEver and seconded by Mr. Christopher: RESOLVED, that, on recommendation from the Lansing Planning Board, Viola Miller is hereby re- appointed to a 7 year term to the Lansing Planning Board. Said appointment to begin January 1, 2005 and end December 31, 2011. Carried. APPOINTMENT OF LINDA HIRVONEN: 04 -240 RESOLUTION, offered by Mr. Shattuck and seconded by Mrs. Wilcox: RESOLVED, that on recommendation from the Lansing Zoning Board of Appeals, Linda Hirvonen is hereby re- appointed to the Lansing Zoning Board of Appeals for a 5- year term. Said term to begin on January 1, 2005 and end on December 31, 2009. Carried. AUTHORIZE USE OF EXCESS SALES TAX: 04 -241 RESOLUTION, offered by Mrs. Wilcox and seconded by Mr. McEver: WHEREAS, the Town of Lansing has received its share of the sales tax received by Tompkins County in the amount of $ 394,018.04: and WHEREAS, the Town Board wishes to allocate the sales tax money to four accounts, being Highway Equipment Capital Reserve Account, the Building Repair Reserve Account, the Parks and Recreation Equipment Reserve Account, and the Highway DB Fund; therefore, it is hereby RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor to allocate the sales tax money received from Tompkins County in the amount of $ 394,018.04 to the Highway Equipment Capital Reserve Account in the amount of $ 135,850.00, the Building Repair Reserve Account in the amount of $ 127,000.00, the Parks and Recreation Equipment Account in the amount of $ 7,000.00 and the Highway DB Fund in the amount of $ 1243168.04. (Aye) Connie Wilcox, Councilperson Vote of Town Board ... (Aye) Stephen Farkas, Supervisor BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: Marty, Connie and Doug had nothing to report at this time. Bud Shattuck: Sewer• Moving forward with piecework regarding the sewer region. Will meet with the Village of Lansing soon to look at the proposed sewer district. 264 Continued, December 15, 2004 Steve Farkas: Louis Gossett Center: The Louis Gossett Center is interested in buying into the sewer. A meeting will take place regarding this in the near future. Mr. Farkas has not heard back from the Kingdom Farm regarding their contract with the Town regarding their participation in the proposed sewer. County taking over the Collection of Taxes: Mr. Farkas received a letter from Tompkins County that stated that they are looking into the collection of the Town and County tax bills for all of Tompkins County. Mr. Farkas, Mr. Barber and Cathy Valentino will attend the next County Board Meeting to discuss their concerns with this idea. The Board did not feel this procedure should be taken away from the Town Clerks. Court Monies, All the Court's in New York State will be receiving their money back from the N.Y.S. Comptroller's Office, as there has been a repeal of the fine distribution method and Local Surcharge authority. Bud Shattuck: List for 2005: Mr. Shattuck stated that he did not make a "to do" list for 2005 as there are still issues from 2004 that need to be taken care of He discussed some of these issues with the Board. Adjournment of Meetiniz: 04 -242 RESOLUTION, offered by Mr. McEver and seconded by Mr. Shattuck: p.m. RESOLVED, that the meeting be adjourned at the call of the Supervisor at 12:30 Carried.
