HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-01-09104 January 9, 1991 The Lansing Town Board met in Special Session at 7:00 P.M. at the Lansing Town Hall Boardroom with Supervisor Kirby presiding. Jeannine Kirby Herbert Beckwith Jeffrey Cleveland Louis Emmick Larry Tvaroha Bonita Boles Richard Thaler ROLL CALL her case regarding her driveway off Supervisor Myers Road. Councilman Present Town Clerk Absent Town Attorney Present The Supervisor called the meeting to order and took the Roll Call, Visitors: John Horky, Mr. Cobane, Mrs Uhrovick, Mr. Mack, Dave Herrick. Mrs. Uhrovick stated her case regarding her driveway off district was also Myers Road. The Board decided to consider Mrs. Uhrovick's best options. Mr. John Horky expressed concern regarding the water on his property. He will contact Dave Herrick concerning this matter. Mr. Horky also asked if the Highway Department would clean the ditches on Triphammer Terrace. Mrs. Kirby will inform Mr. Larson of this request. The Lansing Town Planning Board will look at the lot to be sure they would accept it if it were to be used as a building lot. Mr. Louge and Mr. Tuddingham appear to be in agreement for giving land required to build a road to the Town along with deeds. There has still been no communication from Mr. Edwards who would also need to deed property to the Town for the road construction. Mr. Swearingen's Attorney looked at what was being proposed and wanted the district changed to included the entire property. The Town engineer recommended that the property on the south side of the creek should be in a district extension and the property on the north side should be put in the Drake Road water District. Mr. Thaler will write a letter to Mr. Swearingen confirming Dave Herrick's recommendation. In regard to Mr. Frank Proto's buy -in charge for Lansing Water District No. 2, the Board decided to use charges affiliated with Water District's 2, 8 and 10 to come up with a buy -in figure. The Lansing Water Board will come up with the actual figure. The next Water Board meeting is scheduled for January 21, 1991. The proposed Water District for the Myers area was discussed at the people last at Water Board meeting. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Cleveland who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Emmick: RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing hereby conditionally accepts East Meadow Drive as a Town Road. (Aye) Jeannine Kirby, Supervisor- still being worked on and will be dedicated The Lake Watch Development is having many drainage problems. Corrections will have to be made before acceptance occurs. Dave Herrick has made recommendations that Lake Watch developers will have to adhere to. It was stated that Lockerby Hill Bridge needs repairs and that the County has no indication of making said repairs. It is unsafe for school buses and any other heavy equipment which needs to cross it. The Town will check into what action can be taken in this matter. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Beckwith who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Cleveland: RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes Richard Thaler to draw up a letter in regard to the Town's disapproval of sending tax statements to mortgage holders and tax services. Carried. Mrs. Kirby informed the Board that the deed to James Bower from the Town was never completed. This will be done in the near future. The Board was informed that all municipalities must have a financial disclosure in effect by January of 1991. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Beckwith who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Tvaroha: RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing hereby appoints Viola Miller Mullane to the Tompkins County Planning Board. Carried. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Emmick who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Cleveland: RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing hereby appoints Harry Bortz to the Lansing Water Board. Carried. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Tvaroha who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Beckwith: RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing hereby appoints Fred Rogers to the Lansing Water Board.
