HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-09-121 SEPTEMBER 122 1990 65 The Lansing Town Board met in Special Session at 8:30 P.M. at the Lansing Town Hall Boardroom with Supervisor Kirby presiding. Jeannine Kirby Herbert Beckwith Jeffrey Cleveland Louis Emmick Larry Tvaroha Bonita Boles Richard Thaler ROLL CALL Supervisor Present Councilman Present Councilman Present Councilman Present Councilman Present Town Clerk Absent Town Attorney Present VISITORS: Bob Flumerfelt, John Adams, George Schlecht,John Kaminsky, George Totman and Alan Euvrard. The Supervisor called the meeting to order and took the Roll Call., It was decided that there would be no further extension on the LaBar situation. The Alan Euvrard extension will be paid in full by Alan Euvrard and will not go to the end of his property line. Mr. Euvrard will take care of the responsibilities on his own. Supervisor Kirby will sign the health form and send it on to David Herrick to complete. John Adams asked the Board to approve his road. He will contact Mr. and Mrs. Payne to see if all the ditches can be put on their property. If this can happen, the Town Board will then approve and accept the road. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Emmick who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Beckwith: RESOLVED that the following Resolution was made.UNDER- PROTEST: WHEREAS, the Board of Representatives in and for the County of Tompkins on August 14, 1990 adopted Local Law No. 8 which provides that the County of Tompkins shall become the tax collection agency for the purpose of collecting real property taxes and special assessments in installments; and WHEREAS, the Tompkins County Board Resolution No. 315 directs payment to the Town as compensation for costs associated with the administration of the installment option in the amount of One Dollar ($1.00) per the installment payer; and WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Lansing is desirous of having the payment of the Town of Lansing Taxes be subject to the conditions and terms outlined in said local law. RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing- does - -hereby adopt UNDER PROTEST, the installment option in accordance with the provisions of Tompkins County Local Law No. 8 of 1990; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk of the Town of Lansing shall upon receipt of the collectors warrent collect the first installment of such taxes as are designated to be paid in installments as well as collect the taxes as directed by the warrent for those tax payers who have not selected the installment option; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk in and for the Town of Lansing is directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Clerk of the Board of Representatives as soon as reasonably possible but in no event after the first day of October, 1990. Discussion on the new Senior Citizen bus and it's,payment was held. The moving of the School House on Route 34B to Town property was discussed and it was decided that Mrs. Bement should give the Town Board more information on this matter.
