HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-05-02351 May 02, 1990 The Lansing Town Board met in Special Session at the Lansing Town Hall Boardroom on May 02, 1990 at 8:00 P.M. with Supervisor Kirby presiding. ROLL CALL Jeannine Kirby Supervisor Present Herbert Beckwith Councilman Absent Jeffrey Cleveland Councilman Present Louis Emmick Councilman Present Larry Tvaroha Councilman Present Bonita Boles Town Clerk Absent Debbie Crandall Deputy Town Clerk Present Richard John Town Attorney Present Visitors: George Totman, Phil Winn, Attorney, Marty Ottenschott The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the roll call. Phillip Winn, Attorney and Marty Ottenschott addressed the Board concerning Ottenschott's property at 17 Ridge Road, Cortland Paving. They requested permission from the Board to allow him to continue business and to comply with the Local Ordinance. Mr. Ottenschott advised the Board that he has been cleaning and disposing of alot of debris and had Wallace Steel bring 2 large containers and they cut up metal for recycling. Also, three rows of trees and shrubs have been planted for a barrier. Mr. Winn asked the Board .:what:was_ further needed in order to comply with the Ordinance. After some discussion it was the consent of the Town Board to have George Totman, Code Enforcement Officer meet with Marty Ottenschott May 4th at 10:00 A.M., to walk over his property to determine its condition. From that time Mr. Ottenschott will have 60 days to report back to the Board on July 11, 1990 at 8:00 P.M. George Totman discussed the problem of junk cars with the Board. It was the consent of the Board to have George write a letter to the individual giving them 30 days to get together with George and comply with the oridnance. Vote of George approached the Board with a car crushing day as a solution to the junk yard problem. He also would like the Board to hold a Public Hearing to change the junk yard local law to have the junk yard owners remove the gas tank before the vehicle enters their property. Board . . . . . .
