HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-11-2974 NOVEMBER 29, 1989 The Lansing Town Board met in Special Session at the Lansing Town Hall Boardroom at 7 :00 P.M. with Supervisor Kirby presiding. ROLL CALL Jeannine Kirby Supervisor Present Herbert Beckwith Councilman Present Jeffrey Cleveland Councilman Present Louis Emmick Councilman Present Larry Tvaroha Councilman Present Richard John Town Attorney Present The Supervisor called the meeting to Order and took the roll call. Mr. Taub and Mr. Sciarabba gave a presentation of the proposed Lansing Community Center. Several people from the community attended. Discussion was held after the presentation and the following Resolution was offered: RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Beckwith who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Tvaroha: RESOLVED, that the Town Board will hold a Public Hearing on December 19, 1989 at the Lansing High School in Room 101 at 7:00 P.M. on the Proposed Lansing Community Center and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk is hereby directed to advertise said Public Hearing in the Board . At December 06, 1989 The Lansing Town Board met'in Special Session at the Lansing Town Hall Boardroom at 8:00 P.M. with Supervisor Kirby presiding. One other resident from East Lake Road, The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the Clerk take the Roll Call. a Dave Herrick gave an-updated-report on*the -water Districts. Cheryl Nickel approached the Board asking them to accept East Lake Road as a Town Road. Richard Thaler informed her he still needed a Survey of the Road and a letter from Howard Groat, Highway Superintendent, approving the road. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Cleveland who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Tvaroha: RESOLVED, that the Town Baord approves payment of Viola Miller's bills when she attended the NYPF Conference in the Catskills on October 15th — 18th, 19890 Vote of Town Board . . . . . . . . (Aye) Jeannine Kirby, Supervisor �f ORDER OF TOWN BOARD SPECIFYING TIME AND PLACE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSAL TO CONSTRUCT A LANSING COMMUNITY CENTER FOR THE TOWN OF LANSING At a meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Lansing held at the Town Hall in on the 29th day of the Town of Lansing, November, 1989, at 7:00 Tompkins p.m. County, New York, PRESENT: Jeannine Kirby, Supervisor; Lewis Emmick, Councilman; Jeffrey Cleveland, Councilman; Larry Tvaroha, Councilman; Herbert Beckwith, Councilman. In the matter of the proposal to construct a Lansing Community Center in the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York. WHEREAS, a design, plan and report have been prepared in such a manner and in such detail as has heretofore been requested by the Town Board of Lansing, relating to the construction of Town offices, a Community Center and an indoor ice skating rink on Town land immediately adjacent to the location of the present Town Hall, and such designs and plans are available for inspection at the Lansing Town Hall prior to a public hearing, and WHEREAS, the proposed cost of the project for the construction of the Town offices, Community Center and ice skating rink, if approved is 1.9 Million Dollars, and WHEREAS, the cost of the proposed project if approved is to be financed by the sale of general obligation bonds of the Town of Lansing for the amount of the indebtedness. NOW, on motion of Herbert Beckwith, Councilman, seconded by Larry Tvaroha, Councilman, it is hereby, ORDERED, that the Town Board of the public hearing at the Lansing High School of Lansing, on the 19th day of December, date and consider said design, plan and persons interested in the subject thereof to take such action thereon as is required Town of Lansing hold a in Room 101 in said Town L989 at 7:00 p . m . on that report and to hear all concerning the same and or authorized by law. The adoption of the foregoing order was duly put to a vote and upon call the vote was as follows: Jeannine Kirby, Supervisor - voting Aye; Lewis Emmick, Councilman - voting Aye; Jeffrey Cleveland, Councilman - voting A; Larry Tvaroha, Councilman - voting Aye; Herbert Beckwith, Councilman - voting Aye. The order was thereupon duly adopted. Dated: November 29, 1989. STATE OF NEW YORK ) COUNTY OF TOMPKINS )ss: I, BONITA BOLES, Town Clerk of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York, do hereby certify that I have compared the preceding Resolution with the original thereof filed in my office at the Town Hall, Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York, and. that the same is a true and correct copy of said original and the whole thereof. I further certify that all members of the Town Board had due notice of the meeting at which said Resolution was adopted.
