Bids were publicly opened at the Lansing Town Hall on May 9, 1986 at the
Lansing Town Hall on May 9, 1986 at 2:00 P.M. for the construction of a total of
14,825 linear feet of 8" watermains including appurtenances to serve Senior
Citizens Housing Complex, Lansing Central School Facilities, Wilco Business Forms
Plant and L/M income and other residences along Auburn Road, Ridge Road, Brickyard
Hill Road and East Shore Drive.

The Lansing Town Board met in an Adjourned Meeting on May
8:00 P.M. to discuss the security at the Lansing Town Park and
act on any other business that may come before said board.

The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the Roll Call,
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Stevens, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Emmick:
RESOLVED, that this board approves the proposed subdivision of Whispering
Pines provided that the developer complies with all of the requirements of the
Lansing Planning Board, copy of which is on file with the Town Clerk.

Discussion held on security at the Lansing Town Park. Atty. Williamson
discussed the County insurance pertaining to hiring Tompkins County Sheriff
Deputies to work part -time in the park.
John Huether spoke to the board in regard to park patrol. Mr. Huether
stated that he and Daniel Drew would not be working as part -time police
at the Lansing Park for the 1986 summer season.
Discussion by the board on alternatives to obtain park protection. Follow-
ing resolution offered.
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Stevens, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Ms. Kirby:
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be authorized to hire Stephen Shippos as
night watchman at the Lansing Town Park, to serve at the pleasure of the board.
Mr. Shippos to be employed for 40 hours per week at a rate of $4.00 per hour,
and be it further

The Lansing Town met in Regular Session at the Lansing Town Hall on
May 14, 1986 at 8:00 P.M. with Supervisor Herbert Howell presiding.

Visitors: T.G. Miller, Town Engineer, Helen Howell, County Representative,
Wanda B. B►ink, Deputy Clerk, Planning Board Chairman, John Homa,
Philip Munson, Pat Barnes, Corey Gettig and Jackie Kinard.
The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the
Roll Call.
Mr. Munson spoke to the board in regard to transplanting some wild flowers
from the Brown property to the Lansing Sr. Citizen's Home. Consensus of the board
this request be approved.
Philip Munson, Board Member of the So. Lansing Center and Corey Gettig,
Member of the State Governor's Council for Youth, discussed the proposed water-
line to the NYS Girls School. Mr. Munson and Mrs. Gettig stated they would
assist the town in any way possible to solve the water problem at the School.
Co. Representative, Helen Howell, reported that the County Board is
still studying potential sites for solid waste, also reported that the
Nutrition for the Elderly Program requires additional funds to maintain its
operation.
Engineer T.G. Miller reported on the Lansing Water Committee meeting
held on March 14, 1986. At said meeting the Water Committee requested
Mr. Miller to submit a proposal to investigate the feasibility and cost
of connecting to the new water system for 1) Warren Road Area, 2) Storm -
crest Heights, Horvath & Asbury Drive Areas and 3) N. Triphammer Road,
Franklyn and Maple Drive Areas.. Discussion held by the board, following
resolution offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Emmick, who moved its adoption, seconded
by Mr. Stevens:
RESOLVED, that this board appropriates $155000.00 from various funds
for maps, plans and reports to be prepared by T.G. Miller Associates to
finance water studies in proposed areas 1) Warren Road Area, 2) Stormcrest
Heights, Horvath and Asbury Drive Areas, and 3) N. Triphammer Road,
Franklyn and Maple Drive Areas, and be it further
