The Lansing Town Board met in Regular Session at the Lansing Town Hall on
May 11, 1982 at 8:00 P.M. with Supervisor Munson presiding.

The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the
Roll Call.

The Town Board reviewed the bids received for Diesel Fuel and the follow-
ing resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mrs. McElwee, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Emmick:
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has duly advertised for bids for
Diesel Fuel, and
WHEREAS, Lamoreaux -Quinn Service Corp. was the lowest bidder, said bid in
the amount of $ .978 per gallon, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the aforesaid bid be and hereby is accepted.

Lansing Parks Police Officer, John Huether, discussed the theft and
vandalism occurring at the Town Park at Myers. Board Members and Mr. Huether
discussed a curfew at the park from 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. Supervisor
Munson to contact Park Superintendent, Eric Trotter, for his recommendations.
RESOLUTION offered by Mrs. McElwee, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Stevens:
RESOLVED, that the Town Highway Superintendent be authorized to attend the
Highway Superintendent's School to be held at Cornell University on June 7, 82
and 9, 1982 and that all necessary expenses be a town charge. Carried
Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen to advertise for bids to purchase either
a car or truck for highway purposes. Bids to be opened and discussed on
May 25, 19820
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Emmick, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mrs. McElwee:
RESOLVED, that $300.00 from the Contingency Acct. 01990.4 be transferred
to Safety Inspection A3620.1.

RESOLVED, that Norman Stanton be appointed Fire Code Inspector at a
rate of $8.00 per hour, said hours not to exceed ten hours in any one month.

RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Stevens, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mrs. McElwee:
RESOLVED, that Ralph Hallett, 176 Wood Road, Freeville, N.Y., be refunded
$150.00 for Boat Slip #54. Carried
Clerk advised the board that a Tompkins County Municipal Officers Association
Meeting would be held on May 26, 1982 at 7' :00 P.M. at the Lehigh Valley Restaurant.
Copy of letter written by Chairman of the Lansing Recreation Commission,
John F. Cummings, to the Lansing Beer League regarding the request of the League
for use of the Town Baseball Fields, was read and discussed by the board.
Discussion held by the board on the Public Referendum to be held May 18, 1982
on Proposed Water District #5. Supervisor Munson to arrange advertising regarding
the Referendum.
Letter received from Blue Cross /Blue Shield of Central N.Y. concerning
Governor's Program Bill #387 which calls for the creation of a Medical Malpractice
® Catastrophe Fund financed by a tax on claim payments made by all heath insurance
companies operating in New York State. Blue Cross /Blue Shield, along with other
New York State Plans is strongly opposed to the proposed legislation and are
recommending that health insurance customers contact their representatives opposing
this legislation.
Councilman Stevens reported that a liaison meeting between the SPCA and the
Towns would be held on May 20, 1982.. The intent of the meeting will be to focus
on the chain of administrative events and inter - communication that is necessary
between all parties in order to most effectively reduce the names appearing on
the non renewal lists.
Supervisor Munson reported that the Cayuga Crushed Stone Company had returned
to full operation.
Supervisor Munson presented his monthly report.
AUDIT RESOLUTION offered by Mrs. McElwee, who moved its adoption, seconded
by Mr. Stevens:
RESOLVED, that General Fund bills #154 through #211 totalling $23,052.25
and Highway Fund bills #109 through #137 totalling $27,607.31be and the same
are hereby approved for payment, and be it further
RESOLVED, that Water District #2 bills be and the same are hereby approved
for payment.
