HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-12-0146 December 1, 1981 The Lansing Town Board met in Special Session on December 1, 1981 at 8:00 P.M. for the purpose of considering and acting on Resolutions in regard to Water Dist. #4. Said meeting held at the Lansing Town Hall with Supervisor Munson presiding. ROLL CALL Philip Munson Supervisor Present Louis Emmick Councilman Present Bert Hilliard Councilman Present Margaret McElwee Councilwoman Present George Stevens Councilman Present Jane Bush Horky Town Clerk Present Visitors: Planning /Research Consultant, Thomas Niederkorn; Planning Board Members, Viola Miller, Linda Hirvonen, Sidney Cleveland, Robert Briggs, David Hardie, Thomas Kick, Herbert Ley, Lorne Montague, Secretary Carolyn Montague; Zoning Board of Appeals Members, John Barney, James Preston, Jeff Klein and Alex Cima. The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the Roll Call. RESOLUTION offered by Mrs. McElwee, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Emmick: RESOLVED, that in order to build a pumping facility for Lansing Water District No 4 on property adjacent to the Burdick Hill tank, property owned by S.C.L.I.W.C., and use that tank for its supply, the Lansing Town Board requests of the Southern Cayuga Lake Intermunicipal Water Commission permission to construct the following on their Burdick Hill tank property: driveway, water lines, drains under, and power lines either over or under. It is understood that this construction will be supervised and approved by T.G. Miller, P.C. Engineers and Surveyors and the appropriate S.C.L.I.W.C. personnel. Vote of Town Board . . . . (Aye) Philip Munson, Supervisor RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Stevens, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Emmick: RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he is hereby authorized to execute all applications and documents required for the Establishment of Lansing Water District #4. (Aye) Philip Munson, Supervisor Planning Board Chairman, Viola Miller, expressed appreciation to the Town Board Members and Zoning Board of Appeals Members for this cooperative meeting with the Planning Board. Mrs. Miller introduced Planning Board Member, Sidney Cleveland, who acted as Chairman of the meeting. Mr. Cleveland spoke briefly on the proposed Preliminary Land Usage Plan, the importance of working together and sharing all concerns and discussions for the future growth of the Town. Mr. Cleveland introduced Planning and Research Consultant, Thomas Nieder- korn, who has been working in coordination with the Planning Board on the Master Plan Update and Land Use Policy. Mr. Niederkorn described the present Land Use Plan and the results of Planning Board studies of the projected future growth of the Town. Items covered were: Basic Data, Development Policy, Future Land Use Plan and Imple- mentation. A Future Land Use Map and a Land Use Management Map was presented and closely viewed by the persons present. Mr. Cleveland complimented Mr. Niederkorn on his presentation and opened the meeting for discussion. Following discussion, the Members of the Town Board all expressed their approval of the studies being conducted by the Planning Board. The Planning Board will con- tinue to move forward on their studies and will meet with the other Boards.-of the Town in January or early February.
