The Lansing Town Board met in an Adjourned Meeting on February 27, 1979 to
conduct and act on any - business that may come before said board. Said meeting
held at 8 :00 P.M. at the Lansing Town Hall as called at the Regular Meeting of
February 13, 1979.

Visitors: Approximately ten Lansing residents.
Supervisor Munson called the meeting to order at 8 :00 P.M. having the
clerk take the Roll Call.
Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen stated that he was considering selling
for junk, an old 1950 Chevrolet truck, and asked for the board's approval.
Discussion held by the board, following resolution offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Hilliard, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Stevens:
RESOLVED, that the Highway Superintendent be authorized to sell an old
1950 Chevrolet truck for junk. Carried
Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen and Supervisor Munson discussed financing
for the purchase of a new truck. Highway Superintendent will advertise for bids.
Highway Superitendent discussed the ice problems in Salmon Creek.
The appointment of Part -time Police Officers for the Lansing Parks was
discussed by the board. Following resolution offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Hilliard, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Stevens:
RESOLVED, that William Burin and John Payne be appointed Part -time Police
Officers for the Lansing Parks for the year 1979. Carried
William Burin thanked people for circulating . petitions on his behalf and
attending board meetings. ,
Norman D. Stanton, Ordinance Officer, submitted his monthly report which
was read and reviewed by the board.
Letter received from N.Y.S. Dept. of Transportation regarding our request
for a lower speed limit on Drake Road. Said letter stated that due to the low
marginal development, a reduced speed limit on Drake Road was not justified at
this time.
Letter received from Agway Petroleum Corporation stating a price increase
of $.02 per gallon for diesel fuel and fuel oil #2, effective February 9,1979•
Letter received from James W. Ray, Chairman, Planning and Public Works
Committee of the Tompkins County Board of Representatives regarding redistri-
bution of March 24, 1978 memo relating to Emergency Actions Relating to Floods.
Board Members and Attorney Williamson discussed and reviewed Land Sub-
division Rules and Regulations of the Town of Lansing.
Board Members reviewed a job description proposed for the Lansing Ordinance
Enforcement Officer.
Councilwoman Margaret McElwee, reported that the survey which was made,by
local residents to determine the number of persons interested in receiving
water service from Bolton Point, was completed and had been forwarded to
Engineer T.G. Miller for study.
Councilman George Stevens discussed with the board, the dog control
situation and possible recommendations to be presented to the County Committee
of Municipal Officials' Association, who will compile said recommendations and
submit to the Tompkins County Board of Representatives.
The board
further discussed the
possibility of the
Lansing Grange Hall
being converted
to a Town of Lansing
Community Center.
No action taken.
The Supervisor presented his monthly report.

RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Hilliard, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Naegely:
RESOLVED, that due to the lack of parking at the building, formerly known
as Howland's Store, and the danger of access and egress to said building from
Route 34B, the Town opposes the use of the premises for commercial enterprise.

On March 13, 1979 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lansing Town Hall, bids were
publicly opened for one new 1979 6 -wheel drive Dump Truck -Snow Plow Combination,
as advertised. Bid received as follows:

The Lansing Town Board met in Regular Session at the Lansing Town Hall on
March 13, 1979 at 8:00 P.M., with Supervisor Munson presiding.

The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the

the bid received on March 13th, 1979 for one new 1979 6 -wheel drive Dump Truck-
® Snow Plow Combination. Following resolution offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Naegely, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Stevens:

WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has duly advertised for bids for one a
new 1979 &wheel drive Dump Truck -Snow Plow Combination, and
WHEREAS, Charles J. Blackwell, Inc., of'Horseheads, New York was the only
bidder, said bid in the amount of $69,990.00, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the aforesaid bid be and hereby is accepted on condition
that a Contract is executed stating that $25,000.00 be paid on delivery and the
balance, with no carrying charges or interest, be paid after January 1, 19800
