HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-10-18Continued October 11, 1977 Supervisor McDermott reported that he had meet with members from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture - Soil Conservation Service, regarding the Salmon Creek Flood Control Project. Procedure concerning said project was outlined and discussed by the board. Supervisor McDermott presented his monthly report. AUDIT RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Bush, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Naegely: RESOLVED, that General Fund bills #323 through #352 totalling $21,188.99 and Highway Fund bills #219 through #244 totalling $14,230.34 be and the same are hereby approved for payment, and be it further RESOLVED, that Water District #2 bills be and the same are hereby approved for payment. Wesley McDermott, Supervisor voting (Aye) Mr. McDermott announced that a budget work session would be held by the board on October 13th at 8:00 P.M., also stating that the Regular Town Board Meeting for November would be held on November 10th, due to Election Day falling on our scheduled monthly meeting nite. On Motion, meeting adjourned to October 18, 1977 at 8:00 P.M. October 18, 1977 The Lansing Town Board met in an Adjourned Meeting at 8 :00 P.M. as called at the Regular Meeting of October 11, 1977. Said meeting to consider and act on any business that may come before said board. ROLL CALL Wesley McDermott Supervisor. Present Visitors: Deputy Clerk Wanda Brink and George Stevens. The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the roll call. Supervisor McDermott announced to the board that the budget for the next ensuing year must be completed at this tiriie. Budget study was made and reviewed by the board. Following the completion of the preliminary budget it was ready for adoption and the date of the hearing set thereon. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Naegely, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Hilliard: RESOLVED, that this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the prelim- inary budget of this Town for the fiscal. °year beginning on the 1st day of January 1978,4 the. °itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this resolution, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that such preliminary budget shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any interested persons at all reasonable hours, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8:00 P.M. on the 10th day of November 1977, for the purpose of.holding a Public Hearing upon such prelim- inary budget, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Toim Clerk give notice of such Public Hearing in the manner provided in Section 108 of the Town Law, and that such notice be published and posted in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET FOR THE TOWN OF LANSING FOR YEAR 1978 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the preliminary budget of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1978, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk of said Town at Lansing in said Town, where it is available for inspection of any interested person at all reason- able hours, (continued) C7 1 Continued October 18, 1977 FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Town Board of said Town of Lansing will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a Public- Hearing there on at 8:00 P.M. on the 10th day of November 1977, and that at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law, that the following are proposed yearly salaries of town officers of this town: Supervisor $4,500900 Councilman 4 @ $1,500.00 each 6,000.00 Town Clerk & Receiver of Taxes 125103.00 Highway Superintendent 14,770.00 BY ORDER OF THE TOWN BOARD Carried RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Hilliard, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Bush: WHEREAS, the Assessment Rolls for Lansing Water District #1, Lansing Water District #2,and Sewer District #2 have been completed and have been filed with the Town Clerk, now therefore be it 6 1 RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing will hold a Public Hearing on said Assessment Rolls on the 10th day of November 1977 at 8:30 P.M. in the evening thereof, then, and there to meet, hear and consider any objections which may be made to the rolls, and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk publish notice of completion of the rolls pursuant to Section 239 of the Town Law.
