HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-02-10February 10, 1976 The Lansing Town Board met in Regular Session at the Lansing Town Hall on February 10,.1976 at 8 P.M. with Supervisor Wesley McDermott presiding. ROLL CALL Wesley McDermott Supervisor Present Louis Bush Councilman Present Bert Hilliard Councilman Present Edward LaVigne Councilman Present Lee Naegely Councilman Present Lloyd Sharpsteen Town Superintendent Present Robert Williamson Town Attorney Present Jane Bush Horky Clerk Present Visitors: Zoning Officer Norman Stanton, Water Supt. James Howell and six Lansing Residents. The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. having the clerk take the Roll Call. ® Proof of Notice having been furnished, the Public Hearing on the Proposed Amendment to the Ordinance Governing Removal and Storage of Vehicles to increase the towing charge.from $10.00 to a maximum of $25.00 and the storage charge not to exceed $3.00 per day, was called to order by Supervisor McDermott. 4V G� a Members of the board, Town Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen and persons present, discussed the proposed amendment. All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard, and no objections being made to said amendment, the hearing was terminated at 8:15 P.M. Proof of Notice having been furnished, the Public Hearing on the Proposed Amendment to the Ordinance Regulating Snowmobiles to include in Section 3, Subdivision (3) (b) the Sill Road as a Town Road designated for snowmobiles, was called to order by Supervisor McDermott. All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard, and no objections being made to said amendment, the hearing was terminated at 8:25 P.M. The town board discussed the hearing's just held and the following resolu- tions were offered: RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Nae by Mr. Bush: WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was to the Ordinance Governing Removal charge from $10.00 to a maximum of $3.00 per day, and be it gely, who moved its adoption, seconded held after due notice on a proposed Amendment and Storage of Vehicles to increase the towing $25.00 and the storage charge not to exceed WHEREAS, discussion was held on said proposed amendment, now therefore RESOLVED, that said Ordinance Governing Removal and Storage of Vehicles be amended to increase towing charge in said Ordinance to an amount not to exceed $25.00 and the storage charge not to exceed $3.00 per day and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk post and publish said amendment as required by law. Discussion held by the board, action tabled. Norman D. Stanton, Ordinance Officer, submitted his monthly report which was read and reviewed by the board. Letter received from R.J. Martin, P.E. of Vestal, New York. Letter concerned Federal Aid being allocated for the purpose of providing grants for design and construction of Sewage Collector Systems. Frank R. Liguori, Tompkins County Commissioner of Planning, forwarded a draft report of Transportation Planning, Coordination and Facilitation in Tompkins County, for review by the board and requesting comments. FollowinE 1975 Report received from Floyd Ferris, Town Justice: 142 Vehicle and Traffic closed 40 Pending 35 Criminal closed 15 Pending 5 Civil closed 2 Pending 182 57 335 Dog Licenses, delinquent cases resolved without issuing summons. Remitted to Audit and Control: $1,921.50 Balance:;onnhand : 132950 Supervisor McDermott announced that the Town of Lansing Parks Commission would hold a meeting on February 11th at 7:30 P.M., urging Town Board Members to attend. Supervisor announced that Assemblyman Gary A. Lee is keeping the town very well informed of any and all Vote legislation Town affecting . . (Aye) Bert Hilliard, Councilman our area. The report of examination of the Federal Revenue Sharing Funds for the Town of Lansing, covering the period 1/1/72 through 12/31/7+ has been received from the State Department of Audit and Control and is on file. Mr. George Little and Ralph Barnard appeared before the board and reported on the studies that have been conducted on a proposed Lansing Home for older adults. Site plans, financial data and legal aspects were reviewed. Mr. C. Arno Finkeldey appeared before the board requesting a Water Contract granting him permission to obtain water from Lansing Water District #2 to his home on 26 Lake Shore Road. Discussion held by the board, following resolution offered: RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Bush: RESOLVED, that this board, on behalf of Lansing Water District #2, intends to enter into a contract with C. Arno & Lucy Finkeldey authorizing Finkeldey to hookup to and acquire water from Lansing Water District #2 under the direction of the Water Superintendent, and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Attorney is directed to prepare a formal contract to be approved by the Lansing Town Board. (Aye) Wesley McDermott, Supervisor Marshall Volbrecht appeared before the board and requested a street light at the end of Mill Street in Ludlowville. Mr. William Bement, on behalf of the Planning Board, reviewed proposed amend- ments to the Mobile Home Ordinance with the Town Board. Attorney Williamson was requested to edit the proposed changes and bring back to the Boards for review. The Supervisor presented his monthly report. AUDIT RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Hilliard, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. LaVigne: RESOLVED, that General Fund bills #8 through #39 totalling $22,776.76 and Highway Fund bills #19 through AT totalling $21,288.71 be and the same are hereby approved for payment, and be it further RESOLVED, that Water District #2 bills be and the same are hereby approved for payment. Please take notice that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing will hold a Public Hearing on a proposed amend- ment to the Ordinance governing Removal and Storage of,Vehicles, on February 10, 1976 at 8:00 P.M. at the Lansing Town Hall. Saidordinance isto be amended to increase the towing charge not to exceed $25.00 and the storge charge. not, to exceed 43.00 per day.
