Planning Board Chairman, Viola Miller, invited the Town Board to have a
Joint Meeting with her board on September 22nd at 8:00 P.M. Topics on the
agenda are 1) report of Fred Edmondson on County Planning and how it relates to
Lansing; 2) discussion of possible ways to observe the Bicentennial; 3) methods,
procedures and enforcements of present Town Ordinances.
Supervisor presented his monthly report.
AUDIT RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Bush:
RESOLVED, that General Fund bills #304 through #335 totalling $7,256.83
and Highway Fund bills #203 through #223 totalling $13,373.70 be and the same
are hereby approved for payment, and be it further
RESOLVED, that Water District #1, Water District #2, Sewer D istrict #1
and Sewer District #2 bills be and the same are hereby approved for payment.

The Lansing Town Board met in an Adjourned Meeting on September 30, 1975
at 7:30 P.M. with Supervisor McDermott presiding. Said meeting having been
scheduled to hold a Public Hearing on a proposed Amendment to the Town of
Lansing Zoning Ordinance and act upon any other business that may come before
said board.

Norman Stanton and four Lansing residents.
Supervisor McDermott called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. having the
clerk take the roll call.
Proof of Notice having been furnished, the Public Hearing on the Proposed
Amendment to the Town of Lansing Zoning Ordinance was called to order by
Supervisor McDermott.
Supervisor McDermott reviewed reasons why the amendment was being proposed.
Wallace Washbon suggested the board consider the seven members of the Board of
Appeals be appointed as follows: five members residing in the zoned area and
two members residing in the unzoned area. William Bement and David Hardie,
Members of the Lansing Planning Board, spoke on why the Planning Board recommended
the proposed ratio, being, four members from the zoned area and three members from
the unzoned area.
All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard, the Public Hearing
was terminated at 8:10 P.M.
® The Town Board Members discussed the Public Hearing just held and the
following resolution was offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Naegely, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. Bush:
RESOLVED, that ARTICLE XVIII: APPEALS, Section 1800 Board of Appeals of
the Lansing Land Use Control Ordinance, be amended as follows:
The following language shall be deleted therefrom, "The members of the
Board of Appeals shall reside in the restricted land use control districts of
the Town of Lansing ". . . . . . . . . . .
and be replaced by the said language, "That of the seven members of the
Board of Appeals, four members including the Chairman shall reside in the
zoned area and three members shall reside in the unzoned area ". . . . . . . . .

Letter received from Charles Snyder of Ludlowville, acknowledging with
gratitude the work&of the Lansing Parks Commission in response to the recent
petition by the residents of Ludlowville concerning park and traffic abuse in
the Ludlowville Park.
.Copy of a letter addressed to Mayor Smidt from Mayor F.G. MarchamIof the
Village of Cayuga Heights was read. Said letter concerned changing the sewer
pipe from 10inch diameter to pipe of 12 -inch diameter in a section in Remington
Road. D iscussion held by the board, following resolution offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Naegely, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. LaVigne:
RESOLVED, that the Town Engineer be requested to review the Remington Road
sewer line in the V illage of Cayuga Heights and advise the Town B oard of the
current condition of that line, the amount if any of that line which should be
replaced and a projection of the estimated capacity of said line if and when
replaced, all in accordance with letter from Mayor F.G. Marcham, dated Septem-
ber 17, 1975 addressed to Mayor Smidt.

ment and response to same was received and read. Said letters concerned request.
of a second stop sign on the north side of the Milliken -Rte. 34B intersection.
Supervisor McDermott reviewed a letter just received from Louis J. Lefkowitz,
Attorney General of the State of New York. Said letter outlined Article 8 off
the Environment Conservation Law enacted by the Legislature at their past Session.
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Hilliard, who moved its adoption, seconded by
Mr. LaVigne:
RESOLVED, that Judith Sweazey be approved as an Alternate Democratic Election
Inspector for District #3, term expiring July 15, 1976. Carried
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Naegely, who moved its adoption, seconded
by Mr. Bush:
RESOLVED, that Richard Davis be authorized to attend the Voting Machine
Instruction School at Jamestown, New York on October 16 and 17, 1975, all
necessary expenses to be a town charge. Carried
Lansing Planning Board Member, Fred Edmondson, reported on what is
happening at the County Planning Board level and how it relates or may effect
the T own of Lansing. Discussed present studies being conducted by the County.
Mr. Edmondson noted that the County and Town Planning Boards have not encount-
ered any conflicts and a good relationship exists betwgen the boards.
A general discussion was held by the Town B oard and Planning Board on
possibilities for the Bi- Centennial Observation.
Discussion of methods, procedures and enforcement in regard to the
various town ordinances was reviewed by both boards.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the
Town Board of the Town of Lansing
shall hold a Public Hearing on a Pro-
posed Amendment to the Town of Lens-
ing Zoning Ordinance, at the Town Hall,
-Town of Lansing, Lansing, New-York at
7:30 P.M. on the 30Th day of September,
1975. Said proposed Amendment is as
follows:
"That of,the seven members of the
Board ofAppeals, four members includ-
ing the. Chairman shall reside in the
zoned area and three- members shall re-
side in the unzoned area."
