HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-02-02February 5, 1974 The Lansing Town Board met in an adjourned meeting at 8 P.M. to conduct a Public Hearing to consider a proposed agreement of Municipal cooperation for construction, financing and operating of an Intermunicipal Water Supply and Transmission System and consider and act upon any and all business that may come before said board. Said meeting adjourned from the meeting of January 22, 1974. Thomas G. Miller, six Lansing residents. The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take-the roll call. Proof of Notice having been furnished, the Public Hearing to consider a pro- posed agreement of Municipal cooperation for construction, financing and operating of-an Intermunicipal Water Supply and Transmission System between the Town of Dryden on behalf of Dryden Water District No. 1, Town of Ithaca, Town of Lansing on behalf of Lansing Water District No. 1 and McKinneys Water District, and the Village of Cayuga Heights, was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Supervisor Wesley McDermott. The Supervisor read and reviewed in detail, the proposed Agreement of municipal cooperation for construction, financing and operation of an inter,,, municipal water supply and transmission system. Engineer T.G. Miller, as requested by the Supervisor, discussed the financing of initial construction costs, finan- cing of the maintenance and operation costs, the financing and debt-. allocation for Projects 1 and 11 and the water rate schedule. Following the preceding presentations, the Supervisor opened the Public Hearing to persons present desiring to be heard. Mr. Louis Nangeroni questioned the definition of units for purposes of connection charges (Schedule B), stating that he considered multiple dwellings requiring 1 unit for each dwelling unit was out of proportion. All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard, the Public Hearing was terminated at 10:20 P.M. The following resolution was offered by Mr. Bush, who moved its adoption, seconded by Mr. Hilliard, to -wit: A RESOLUTION MAKING CERTAIN DETERMINATIONS IN RELATION TO THE PROPOSED INCREASE AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE FACILITIES OF WATER DISTRICT NO. 1 AND McKINNEY WATER DISTRICT OF THE TOWN OF LANSING, TOMPKINS COUNTY, NEW YORK. Said Resolution attached hereto and made a part thereof. Councilman Louis Bush VOTING Aye Councilman Bert Hilliard VOTING Aye Supervisor W. McDermott VOTING Aye The resolution was thereupon declared duly adopted. The amount of said costs allocated to the Town of Lansing shall be borne by the aforesaid McKinney Water District in said Town by the assessment, levy.and collection from the several lots and parcels of land in said District in the same manner and at the same time.as other Town charges. Section 2, This resolution is adopted subject to the execution of the aforesaid agreement of municipal cooperation among the aforesaid Towns and Village. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
