HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-10-18We, the undersigned members of the Town.Board of the Town. of Lansing, hereby- waive all notice of a Special Meeting of said Board to be°'held on the 18th day of October, 1973 at 5 *00 o °clock P.M. in the Town Hall, South Lansing, New York, for the purpose of discussing and acting on'the tentative budget for the year of .1974, and any other business that may come before said board. October 18, 1973 The Lansing Town Board held a Special Meeting at 5 P.M. for the purpose of presenting,the 1974 tentative budget to the Town-Board and any other business that may lawfully come before said board. Present Clerk Present The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 5 P.M. having the clerk take the roll call. Attorney Robert Williamson discussed with the Town B oard, the legal status of the proposed Village of Lansing. Following resolution offered: RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne: RESOLVED that this Town Board directs the Town Attorney not to continue further with the first case involving the proposed Village of Lansing. Seconded by Mr. Bush. Carried Supervisor Howell announced to the board that the budget for the next ensuing year must be completed at this time. Considerable budget study was made and figures compiled. Following the completion of the preliminary budget it was ready for adoption and the date of.the hearing set thereon. RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne: RESOLVED, that this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the preliminary budget of this Town'for..the fiscal year beginning on the 1st day of January 1974,:_ the itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this resolution, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that such preliminary budget shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any interested persons at all reasonable hours, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8:00 P.M. on the 8th day of November 1973, for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon such preliminary budget, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk give notice of such public hearing in the manner provided in Section 108 of the Town Law, and that such notice be published and posted in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET FOR TOWN OF'LANSING FOR YEAR 1974 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the preliminary budget of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1974, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk of said Town at South Lansing in said Town, where it is available for inspection of any interested person at all reasonable hours, FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of said T own of Lansing will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a public hearing thereon at 8:00 P.M. on the 8th day of November 1973, and that at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained. AND FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 108 of the Town Law, that the following are proposed yearly salaries of town officers of this town: Supervisor $49200.00 Councilman 4 @ $1,200.00 each 4,800.00 Town Clerk & Receiver or taxes. 9,600.00 Highway Superintendent 115700.00 Seconded by Mr. Bush.. *44 October 18, 1973 RESOLUTION offered bMr. Hilliard: WHEREAS, the assessment rolls for the Lansing Water District #1, Lansing Water District #2, Lansing Sewer District #1, Lansing Sewer D istrict #2 and Catherwood Light District have been completed and have been filed with the Town Clerk, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town Board hold a Public Hearing on said assessment rolls on the 8th day of November 1973 at 9 P.M. in the evening thereof, then, and there to meet, hear and consider any objections which may be made to the rolls, and be it further RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk publish notice of completion of the rolls pursuant to Section 239 of the Town Law, Seco Vote Vote Vote Vote Vote nde of of of of of I by Town Town Town Town Town Utr. On Motion, meeting adjourned 8:15 P.M. October 23, 1973 The Lansing "Town Board held a Public Hearing on October 23, 1973 at 8 P.M. and 8:30 P.M., at the Lansing Town Hall. Said Public Hearing's were 1) In the Matter of the Increase and Improvement of Facilities of Water District No. 1 and of the McKinney Water District of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York. 2) In the Matter of the Improvements of the McKinney Water District of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New -York, Pursuant to Section 202 -b of the Town Law. Proof of Notice having been furnished, the Public Hearing In the Matter of the Increase and Improvement of facilities of Water District.No. l and of the .McKinney Water District of the Town of Lansing was. called to order at 8 P.M. by Supervisor Charles Howell. An analysis of a revised financial plan of the Bolton Point Intermunicipal water supply project and.the effect on consumers of water in.Lansing Water District No. 1 was presented and discussed. No one appeared voicing any objection to the proposed project. All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard, the Public Hearing was terminated at- 8:30 P.M. Proof of Notice having been furnished, the Public Hearing In the Matter of the Improvement of the McKinney.Water District of the Town of Lansing was called to order at 8:30 P.M. by Supervisor Charles Howell. The effect on the Proposed'Bolton Point project costs.to the McKinney Water District consumers was discussed. No one appeared voicing any objection to the proposed project. 1
