HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-02-021 :7 1 .• FEBRUARY 29 1973 a The Lansing Town Board held a Special Meeting on February 2, 1973 at 8 P.M. to hold a Public Hearing on a Proposed Zoning Ordinance. ROLL CALL Charles Howell Supervisor Present Louis Bush Councilman Present Bert Hilliard Councilman Present Edward LaVigne Councilman Present Lee Naegely Councilman Present Robert Williamson Town Attorney Present Jane Bush Town Clerk Present Visitors: Approximately sixty -five Lansing residents were present: The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take the roll call. Proof of Notice having been furnished, the Public Hearing on the Proposed Zoning Ordinance for the Town of Lansing was called to order at 8 P.M. by Supervisor Charles Howell. Supervisor Charles Howell introduced Mr. Thomas Niederkown of Egner and Niederkorn Associates, Inc. Mr. Niederkorn throughly explained the Definitions, General Provisions, Land Use Activities, Regulations, Planned Development, Signs and Administration pertaining to said Proposed Zoning Ordinance. A Land Use Control Map, showing the eight land use control districts was reviewed. Following Mr. Niederkorn's presentation, Supervisor Howell opened the Public Hearing to persons present desiring to be heard. Mr. Rocco Lucente requested his property to be classed in a medium density residential district. Mr. Evan Sheldon requested consideration of his property to be classed in a commercial area district. Mr. John Sherbon and Richard Sherman stated they were in favor of the Proposed Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Martin P. Catherwood stated the Proposed Zoning Ordinance had been well prepared for balancing needed protection. Mrs. Howard Longhouse stated that she would like Benson Road included in the Proposed Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Norman Wheeler requested zoning be extended to Peruville Road. Mr. Frank Horvath stated that he -was not satisfied with the proposed boundary lines and suggested it not go beyond the Asbury Road. Dr. Fisher stated he was opposed to zoning and suggested the whole town should have a voice on the proposal. Mr. Herbert Howell stated he was opposed to zoning and felt the north end of the town should also be heard. Mr. Francis Teeter stateJhe was not in favor of the Proposed Zoning Ordinance as is. All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard, the Public Hearing was terminated at 10:15 P.M.
