Councilman LaVigne reported that a new application would have to
be processed in regard to obtaining federal assistance, if available,
for the Proposed- Extension of Lansing Water Dist. #2.
Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen reported many pieces of highway
equipment is broken down.
The Junk Yard Ordinance was discussed. Councilman Louis Bush
discussed the junkyard located at 544 Auburn Road, owned by Albert R.
Ferris, stating that the junk yard should comply with said ordinance
or action taken to impose penalties in violation as ordinance provides,
Councilman Lee Naegely also felt that two years of this pending case
warranted immediate action. Supervisor Howell to write to Mr. Ferris
stating that said junk yard must comply with ordinance within thirty
days and Councilman Bert Hilliard to personally contact Per. Ferris
= on moving cars etc.
® Mrs. Viola Miller, Planning Board member, spoke regarding question
of County Sewer District. Stated that results of post card poll should
not be used entirely in board's decision of participation in County
Sewer District, that board members could determine what was best for
the town.
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne:
RESOLVED that Highway Superintedent Sharpsteen be authorized to
attend the Town Highway School at Cornell University on June 21, 22 and
23rd and an.y necessary expenses be a town charge.
Seconded by Mr. Naegely. Carried
Supervisor Howell presented his monthly report and explained same
in detail.

to conduct a Public Hearing at 8:00 P.M. on the Proposed Increase in
the Maximum Amount to be Expended for Lansing Sewer Dist. #2., and
any other business that may come before said board.

the Proposed Increase in the Maximum Amount to be Expended for Lansing
Sewer Dist. #2, was called to order by Supervisor Howell at 8:00� P.M.
Arthur Shull made note of his objection to the increase in sewer
costs.
All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard, the Hearing
was terminated at 8:45 P.M.
At this time, the Town Board discussed the Public Hearing just
held in the matter of the increase of the maximum amount to be
expended for Lansing Sewer Dist. #2, from $225000900 to $300000.009
after which time Councilman Lee Naegely offered ORDER OF TOWN BOARD
APPROVING THE INCREASE OF THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT TO BE EXPENDED FOR LANSING
SEWER DISTRICT N0. 2. Said Order attached hereto and made a part
thereof.

WHEREAS, Highway Supt. Sharpsteen has advertised for bids for
one new 4 -Wheel Drive Rubber Tired Loader in accordance with specifica-
tions filed in the Town Clerk's Office, and
WHEREAS, CCO Construction Equip. Inc., 120 Leo Ave.; Syracuse,
N.Y. with a bid of $33,887.00 is the lowest responsible-bidder on -the
four cubic yard bucket size loader, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, upon recommendation of the Highway Supt., that said bid
of CCO Construction Equip. Inc., be and the-same hereby is accepted and
the.Supt, be and he hereby is authorized to complete the purchase of
the aforesaid loader.

on the 2nd day of June, 1971, at 8 P.M.

The following resolution was offered by
Councilman Naegely, who moved its adoption,
seconded by Councilman LaVigne, to-wit:
WHEREAS, the proceedings heretofore duly
and taken pursuant to Article 12 -A of the Town
Law including particularly a final order adopted
April 10, 1968 by the Town Board of the Town of
Lansing, Tompkins County, New York, has
established Lansing Sewer District No. 2 in said
Town and has authorized the construction of a
sewer system to serve said district at a c.ounellman
maximum'estimated cost of $225,000.00. .
In order to complete construction of said Sewer
System, it now appears that it will be necessary -
to expend the additional sum of $75,000.00; and
WHEREAS, said Town Board duly adopted a
resolution on March 5, 1971 pursuant to Section
209 -h of the Town Law authorizing the Supervisor •. Supervisor
to make application to the Department of Audit
and Con&ol for an Order approving the above
mentioned increase in the maximum amount to
be expended; and .
WHEREAS, such application has been made -
and it is, anticipated that the approving order of
the State Comptroller is forthcoming; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to call a Public '
Hearing in connection with said increase, NOW
THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, by the Town Board of the Town of
Lansing, Tompkins County, New, York, as
follows:
Section 1. The meeting of the Town Board of the
Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New -York,
shall be field at the Town Hall, South Lansing,
New York in said Town on the 15th day of June
1971 at 8 P.M., Eastern Daylight Saving Time, for
the purpose of conducting a Public Hearing on the - -
proposed increase in the maximum amount to he
expended for the improvements in Lansing Sewer
District No. 2 in said Town as aforesaid which is
the time and place said Town Board will hear all
persons interested in the subject matter thereof.
Section 2. The Town Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to cause notice of said-Public STATE OF NEW YORK -
Hearing to be given, by publishing a certified COUNTY OFTOMPKINS -
copy of this resolution once in The Ithaca Journal, I TOWN OFLANSING
the official newspaper of the Town and by posting SS:

OF THE YAXIMUM AMOUNT TO BE EXPENDED FOR
LANSING SEWER DISTRICT NO. 2

Lansing held at the Town Hall in the Town of Lansing, Tompkins
County, New York on the 15th day of June, 1971, at 8:00 p.m.

In the matter of the increase of the maximum amount
proposed to be expended for Lansing Sewer District No. 2 in the
Town of Lansing, County of Tompkins and State of New York,
pursuant to Article 12A of the Town Law.
WHEREAS, the establishment of Lansing Sewer District No. 2
was approved by the Department of Audit and Control by order
dated the /y day of o �G02c,/ 196 and
WHEREAS, said district was established by final order of
the Town Board adopted on the ?`/ day of /z xx l 196 ;
and
WHEREAS * to section 196 of the Town Law, the plans
for Lansing Sewer District No. 2 were modified by order adopted
1971, which modification was for the relocation

of sewer lines around the Howard Johnson hotel to the west and
north rather than to the east and north; and,
WHEREAS, application was made to the Depart=nt of Audit
and Control for an order approving the increase of the maximum

amount to be expended for the improvements to Lansing Sewer
District No. 2 from the said $225,000.00 to $300,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Controller of the State of New York by order
dated the ' day of 1971, has approved the
increase of said maximum amount from $225,000.00 to $300,000.00;

WHEREAS, said order has been filed in the Office of the
Department of Audit and Control of the State of New York, and a
second copy in the Office the Town Clerk of the Town of Lansing
on the day of June, 19 71; and
WHEREAS, the increase in the maximum amount proposed to be
expended is due to the increase in construction costs which have
accelerated beyond the average of 5-6% per annum; and
WHEREAS, there has been no change in the map,
plans and specifications of the original districts as approved
and adopted by the Town Board, except as modified pursuant to
order adopted ��itti�'71 % 1971; and
WHEREAS, following receipt by the Town Board of the
order of the Controller approving the increase in such maximum
amount to be expended from $225,000.00 to $300,000.00, an order
of the Town Board was duly adopted as required by law specifying
June 15, 1971 at 8:00 p.m. on that day as the time, and the
Town Hall of said Town as the place where said Town Board would
meet to consider and to hear all persons interested in the
proposed increase in the maximum amount to be expended for the

WHEREAS, said order has been filed in the
Office of the Department of Audit and Control of
the State of New York, and a second copy in the
Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Lansing
on the 4th'day of June; 1971; and
WHEREAS, the increase in the maximum
amount proposed to be expended is due to the
increase , construction costs which have
acceleratd beyond the average of 58% per
... WHEREAS, there has been no change'in the'
map; plans and specifications of the - -. original
district as approved and adopted by the•Town
'Board, except as modified pursuant to order

resolution with the original thereof filed in my
office at the Town Hall, Town' of Lansing,
Tompkins County, New York, and that the same
is a true and correct copy of said original and the
whole thereof. I further certify that all members
of the Town Board had due notice of the meeting
