The Lansing Town Board held a Special Meeting on June 2, 1971
for the purpose of adopting a resolution specifying the time and
place for a Public Hearing on the increase of the maximum amount to
be expended for Lansing Sewer District #20

The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk
take the Roll Call.
An Order of the Town Board Specifying Time and Place of Public
® Hearing on the Increase of the Maximum amount to be expended for
Lansing Sewer District #2, was gone over by the board. Discussion
terminating, the ORDER OF THE TOWN BOARD SPECIFYING TIME AND PLACE OF
PUBLIC HEARING ON THE INCREASE OF THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT TO BE EXPENDED
FOR LANSING SEWER DISTRICT #2, was offered. Said Order attached hereto
and made a part thereof. The Resolution was offered by Councilman
Lee Naegely, who moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Edward
LaVigne, Section 1, of said Order stating:.
The meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Lansing, Tompkins
County, New York, shall be held at the Town Hall, South Lansing,
New York in said Town on the 15th day of June, 1971 at 8 P.M.,
Eastern Daylight Saving Time, for the purpose of conducting a Public
Hearing on the proposed increase of the maximum amount to be expended
for the improvements in Lansing Sewer District #2 in said Town as
aforesaid which is the time and place said Town Board will hear all
persons interested in the subject matter thereof.

The Town Board held an Informational Meeting to discuss with
residents of Existing Sewer Districts 1 and 2 and Study Area 3,
possible alternatives for their participation in the proposed County
Sewer District.

® Visitors: Eng. T.G. Miller, James Howell, Reporter Jeff Frank
and approximately thirty residents.
Supervisor Howell called the meeting to order at 8 P.M.,
explaining briefly the background and studies previously made by
the County relative to the proposed County Sewer District,
Mr. Howell introduced Engineer T.G. Miller, who explained
various possible alternatives to the residents in the southern
part of the town regarding their participation in the County
Sewer District. The estimated costs involved with each of the
possible alternatives was reviewed and discussed.
It was the decision of the Town Board to give property owners
of these areas, by means of a postcard poll, an opportunity to
express their opinion as to the course the Town Board should follow
in establishing the extent of participation of the Town of Lansing
in the proposed County Sewer District.
