Information Meeting called to discuss use of land recently
purchased, located adjacent to Town Hall.
Town Board Members Present: Supervisor Charles Howell,
Councilman Louis Bush, Clerk Jane Bush.
Representatives from Town Organizations Present: Veda Holden,
William Robinson, Jr., Philip Kirk, Clarence Krom, Floyd Wilson,
Bernard Ruzicka and David Hardie.
Supervisor Howell stated that the land recently purchased by the
Town was to be used for the benefit of all Town of Lansing Organizations.
The Town Board would like the assistance of the various groups in
Planning the layout of the land to best suit the needs of all.
The consensus of opinion of those present was to form a Committee
and in conjunction with the Town Board, proceed with plans for
development of the land.
The Committee chosen was:
Chairman: Floyd Wilson
Vice Chairman: David Hardie
Secretary: (To be named)
Treasurer: Philip Kirk
William Robinson was named to act as chairman of a committee to
obtain a name for the project. It was decided that a name contest
would be held. Any Lansing resident, regardless of age, would be
eligible to submit their entry which could be mailed or left at the
Town Hall. The contest will end July 23, 1971 and the winner will
be announced Saturday, July 31st at the Firemen's Carnival. A $50900
War Bond will be awarded for the winning name.
It was suggested that the following Organizations be contacted
and be represented at the next meeting scheduled for June 18th,
8 :30 P.M. at the Lansing Town. Hall.
