A lengthy discussion was held by the Town Board and Engineer
T.G. Miller regarding the Tompkins County Sewer District District #1
and the Town of Lansing's participation relating to same. The project
area and route in which the interceptor line should be located in
Lansing was examined carefully. Methods and formulas relating to
financing the various route plans discussed were debated in detail.
Engineer T.G. Miller recommended that the Town of Lansing accept
the entire length of the interceptor as outlined on the preliminary
master plan inasmuch as future costs plus the possibility of
unavailable aid may economically prohibit lengthening the line
at a future date. Discussion terminating, the following resolutions
were offered:
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne:
RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing authorizes
T.G. Miller, Engineer, to notify the Engineer for the County Sewer
Agency, that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing goes on record as
favoring the inclusion of the entire length of interceptor sewer line
in the first phase of the County Sewer #1 program because they feel
that there is an immediate need for sewer service in the north end
of the proposed County Sewer District #1 which would be served by
this line.
Seconded by Mr. Hilliard.
