The Lansing Town Board met in an adjourned meeting at 8 P.M. as
called by the Supervisor at the adjournment of the Regular Meeting held
on November 13, 1970.

® The Supervisor called the meeting to order having the clerk take
the roll call.
RESOLUTION OF RESPECT - CLARA S. DATES
RESOLUTION offered by Supervisor Howell:
WHEREAS, Clara S. Dates, wife of former Lansing Supervisor,
Harris B. Dates, passed away on the 19th day of November 1970,
now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Lansing Town Board expresses its sincere
sorrow and extends to Harris and all members of his family, this
expression'of heartfelt sympathy in the great loss that they have
suffered, and be it further
RESOLVED, That this Resolution be spread in the minutes of
this meeting, and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Board be and she is hereby
directed to forward a certified copy thereof to Harris Dates
and family.
Unanimously seconded and carried.
RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne:
RESOLVED, that the 8" Sewer and Water Main Plans and Hydrants
location as shown on Hillside Apartments Plot Plan, amended to
November 19, 1970, and as shown on Plans for Water and Sewer Main
Extension across lands of Otto B. Schoenfeld to serve Hillside
Apartments and Fall View Ski Shop, be and the same hereby are approved
and be it further !U n
RESOLVED, that water and sewer service will not be furnished until 2'
the sewer and water mains and hydrants have been constructed in s
accordance with said plans and specifications of the Town of Lansing, R
Village of Cayuga Heights and the approval of said municipalities. `� o

RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne.
RESOLVED, that Justice Fred Spry be authorized to attend the
New York State Traffic Court Conference to be held December 4 & 5, 1970
at Binghamton, New York and that necessary expenses be a town charge.
Seconded by Mr. Naegely.

Supervisor Howell introduced Atty. Armand Adams, Counsel for the
Joint Legislative Committee on Environmental Management and Natural
Resources. Mr. Adams explained in detail, New York State. laws
regarding use of snowmobiles.

An open discussion was held by Town Board Members and visitors
regarding snowmobile operation in respect to an Ordinance or Local
Law should the Town Board take action to enact same. The matter of
use of roads for snowmobile operation was discussed in detail.
Unnecessary noise, operating on private lands, excessive speed were
also discussed. Letter received and read from Roderic S. Neno in
regard to establishing guide lines to reduce hazards and increase
pleasure of snowmobiling in the Town of Lansing. No action taken
at this time.
On Motion, meeting adjourned to Monday,
November 30th at 8 P.M.

The Lansing Town Board met in an Adjourned Meeting at the Lansing
Town Hall on November 309 1970 at 8 P.M. with Supervisor Howell
presiding. Public Hearing to be conducted at 8 :00 o'clock P.M. for
the purpose of amending Lansing Town Ordinance No. 5, Providing for a
partial tax exemption of real property for persons with limited income
who are 65 years of age or over. Public Hearing to be conducted at
8:30 o'clock P.M. on Order to- consider increase of facilities in
Lansing Sewer District No. 1.

Proof of notice having been furnished by the Town Clerk, the
Public Hearing on the Ordinance providing for the amendment of an
Ordinance adopted by the Town Board on the 9th day of August 1966,
was called to order at 8 P.M. by Supervisor Charles Howell. The
proposed Ordinance was read and discussed in detail. No persons
desiring to be heard, the Public Hearing was terminated at 8:20 P.M.
Following board discussion, resolution offered for adoption:
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing has been held for the purpose of
amending Lansing Town Ordinance No. 5 dated August 9, 1966,
Providing for a partial tax exemption of real property for persons
with limited income who are 65 years of age or over, Section 2,
Paragraph 49 increasing the yearly income limitation from $39000
to $5,000 and amending same to conform to other changes in the
state stature, and
WHEREAS, no one appeared objecting to same, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, on Motion by Mr. Naegely and seconded by Mr. Bush,.that
said Amendment to Ordinance #5, dated August 9,.1966 be and the same
is hereby adopted and the Town Clerk be and-she hereby is directed
to enter same in the minutes of the Town Board, post same on the
Town sign board and publish same in the Ithaca Journal and file
affidavits of publishing and posting in her office.
