HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-05-0172 May 1, 1970 An Executive Session was held by the Lansing Town Board as called by Supervisor Charles Howell, all board members being duly notified. Supervisor called the meeting to order at 8 P.M. Charles Howell Louis Bush Bert-Hilliard Edward LaVigne Lee Naegely Robert Williamson Jane Bush ROLL CALL Supervisor Present Councilman Present Councilman Present Councilman Present Councilman Present Town Attorney Present Town Clerk Present Visitors: David Saperstone and James H. Howell. Town Attorney Williamson read the proposed agreement between the Town of Lansing and Ithaca Hotel, Inc. pertaining to said Ithaca Hotel, Inc. obtaining sewer'service in order to prbceed with the construction of Holiday Inn. Mr. Saperstone, member of "Hotel, Inc." objected to the easement cost clause in the agreement and the terms regarding the cost of the $15,000.00 pumping station. Atty. Williamson stated that in the event the connection from the,main sewer line to the north boundary of Ithaca Associates, Inc. remains within the boundary lines, no easement will -be necessary, however, if necessary to locate on premises owned by Ithaca Associates, Inc., an easement will have to be obtained at the expense of Ithaca Hotel, Inc. Discussion held by the Town Board and-Mr. Saperstone regarding the $15,000 cost of the ejector station as outlined in proposed agreement. It was the consensus of opinion of the board to insert the following paragraph to said agreement: "The Lansing Sewer District No. 2 shall repay to the said Hotel the said $15,000, or portions thereof, to the extent that said ejector station can, and is, used by any person, corporation or Sewer District outside the boundaries of Sewer District No. 2 (other than the Hotel), the amount of said reimbursement to be: determined solely by the Town Board of the Town. of Lansing." . Atty. Williamson- stated that he had contacted Atty. Sovocool, attorney for developer of the Ithaca Mall, requesting that the concern meet with the Town Board to discuss water, sewer, drainage, entrances etc. in regard to the development plans \for .the site. Councilman Lee Naegely reported on the current status of boundary plans discussed by the Tompkins County Sewer Agency. Supervisor Howell reported that he had meet with Albert Ferris in regard to our request that Mr. Ferris comply with rules and regulations of Junk Yard Ordinance. Mr. Ferris agreed to remove 90% of old vehicles and remaining 10% would be moved back from road view. Water Supt.-James Howell discussed with the Board, the severe water supply problem in Water District. #2. The present well must be improved or plans for drilling a new well must be examined. Following resolution offered: RESOLUTION offered by Mr. LaVigne: RESOLVED that James Howell, Lansing Water Superintendent, be- authorized and directed to contact sources and survey measures for an alternate source of water supply for District #20 Seconded by Mr. Naegely.
