to investigate the possibilities of bri4ng-civil actions to halt the burning at'.the
dump. The Board also agreed to ask Dr. Broad and Mr. Liguori to attend a meeting
and explain how and when expeditious and effective solutions. could be reached.
Wiley Sutphin inquired if the Board had taken any action on the requests of
the Highway Association in regard to the 1970 contract. Chairman Howell stated
that no action had been taken, however, a special meeting will be held by the
Board before the next regular Town Board Meeting,
Raymond Kulakosky inquired if the
Town Board
had taken
any action on Belvedere
Drive. Following discussion, Mr. Spry
offered the
following
resolution:
RESOLUTION offered by-Mr. Spry:
WHEREAS, Donald Sharpsteen has approved the construction of the easterly
extension of Stonehaven Drive and Belnedere:-Drive and turn around, now therefore
be it
® RESOLVED on motion by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Ferris that said roads be
and are hereby accepted as town roads of the Town of Lansing.

Mr-. Kulakosky presented to the Board and Highway Superintendent for review,
a sketch of two new proposed .roads to be constructed. Said roads to be known as
Birchwood Drive and Springbrook Drive.
Mr. Frank Horvath discussed the Resolution passed on August 12, 1 -969 in regard
to the Town's acceptance of Franklyn Drive, subject to approval and survey of deed
by Town. Attorney. Atty. Williamson directed to complete acceptance transactions.
Mr. Alex. Cima requested the Toim Board to consider accepting a newly constructed
road, namely, Sky Acres Drive. Highway Supt. Sharpsteen and. Town Board to meet
Thursday, Oct. 23rd at 4-:30 P.M. to review road before any decision is made.
Highway Supt.
Sharpsteen
discussed the condition
of
the lower part of the
Gulf Road. Plans
for widening
and straightening out
the
curve were underway.
Water Supt. Howell spoke of the problems regarding the quanity and quality of
the water supply in District #1.-
AUDIT RESOLUTION by Mr. Spry:
RESOLVED that General Fund bills #272 through # 301 totalling $ 8,018.48
Highway Fund bills #285 through #312 totalling $ 8,944.48 be-and the same are
hereby approved for payment.

® The Lansing Town Board met in Special Session cn October 31, 1969 at 8 P.M.
with Supervisor Dates presiding. Said meeting called by the Supervisor to discuss
pending negotiations for a 1970 Agreement between the Town of Lansing and the
Lansing Highway Association. All members duly notified by mail of said meeting.

The Board discussed the requests submitted by the Highway ASSOCiation to be
added to the present contract for the year 1970. Following discussion, the Board
instructed the clerk to write the Highway Association of the Board's proposals for
consideration by the Association, which were as follows:
(1) Under our present contract item IV. WORK DAY AND WORK WEEK: The basic work
week to be changed from-a _-.45 hour week - 9 hours per day for five days to read -
40 hours a week _ 8 hours per day for five days. This change made according to law.

(2) Under our present contract item V. HOLIDAYS: The following additions to be
added to holidays are: Veteran's Day, Lincoln's birthday and election day, making a
total of nine paid holidays.
(3) Under VI. VACATION -To remain the same.
(4) Under VII. SICK LEAVE:'To be added to the present agreement, "A maximum of three
of the twelve days per year may be used, if prior approval is given by the department
head, for personal business."
Hourly rates as follows:
The MEO now receiving $3.30 per hour to be raised to $3.75 per hour.
The MEO now receiving $3.15 per hour to be raised to $3.60 per hour.
The MEO now receiving $2.95 per hour to be raised to $3.35 per hour.
Laborer $2.50 per hour.
Any new MEO - starting salary to be $2.50 per hour.
All over -time pay to be on straight time. •
The Lansing Town Board will -meet on Monday night, November 10th at 8:00 P.M. to
discuss with the negotiating committee of the Lansing Highway Association the new
contract for 1970.

November 6, 1969
The Lansing Town .Board met in Special Session on November 6, 1969 at 8 P.M.
with Supervisor Dates presiding to conduct a Public Hearing on Local Law #1,-1969,
Public Hearing on Special Districts and Public Hearing on Preliminary Budget for
the year 1970 and any other business that may come before said Board. Said
meeting set as per meetings of October 8th and October 21st, 1969.

Proof of notice having been furnished by the Town Clerk, the Public Hearing
on Local Law #1, 1969, REGULATION OF TRAFFIC AT THE TRIPHAMT -TER, SHOPPING PLAZA, was
called to order at 7:45 P.M. by Supervisor Dates. Clerk read proposed Local Law #1.
All persons desiring to be heard, having been heard and no objections being made
to said local law, the hearing was terminated.

Law #1,

after
which time the following resolution
was
offered
for adoption:
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held on proposed Local Law #1, regulating to
traffic at the Triphammer Shopping Plaza on November 6, 1969 at 7:45 P.M. in the
evening thereof, and
WHEREAS, no one appeared objecting to same, now therefore be it •
RESOLVED, by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Howell that said Local Law #1, 1969
relating to Regulation of traffic at the Triphammer Shopping Plaza be and the same
is hereby adopted.
REGULATION OF TRAFFIC AT THE TRIPH,*91ER SHOPPING PLAZA
Section 1. This local law is adcpted pursuant to Section 1640 -a of the Vehicle
and Traffic Law of the State of New York at the request of the owner of the Trip-
hammer Shopping Plaza located in the Town of Lansing, Tompkins County, New York.
Section 2. The following traffic regulation shall be in effect from the
effective date of this Local Law at the Triphammer Shopping Plaza parking area:
(a) Parking, standing, or stopping of vehicles within an area 30 feet from
the edge of the sidewalk and /or face of the Triphammer Shopping Plaza building on
the northeast and west sides of said building is prohibited except for vehicles
delivering merchandise.
