Said meeting was called by the Supervisor, all -- board members being duly notified of same. ROLL CALL Harris B. Dates Supervisor Present Floyd. A discussion was held in the matter of the increase of the maximum amount proposed to be expended for the improvements of Lansing ;:rater District iil�, Discussion termina- ting, the following order was offered: • ORDER OF THE T01plN BOARD SPECIFYING TIME AND PLACE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE INCREASE OF THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT TO BE EXPENDED FOR LANSING WATER DIST. #l. MOTION by Mr. Kidney and seconded by'Mr. Ferris: ORDERED, that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing shall meet and hold a public hearing at the Town Hall in said'Town on the 6th day of November 1968, at 8 :00 o'clock p.m. on that date to consider and to hear all persons interested on the proposed increase in the maximum amount to be expended for the improvement of Lansing Water District No. 1, from $9000000 to $1,075,000, and to take such action thereon as is required and author. ized by law. Said Order attached hereto and made a part thereof. A street lighting contract for Mr. Catherwood's Housing Development was discussed after which time the following resolution was offered: RESOLUTION offered by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Ferris: RESOLVED that the written contract submitted by the New York State Electric & Gas Corporation for lighting the streets and public places of District, #1t, Town of Lansing dated September 2, 1968, be, and the same hereby is, approved, and a majority of the members elected to this Board be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed to execute the same in the name and in behalf of the Town of Lansing. James Kidney- Councilman Floyd Ferris - Justice.of the Peace In the matter of the increase in the maximum amount proposed to be expended for Lansing Water District No. 1 in the Town of Lansing, County of Tompkins, State of New York, pursuant to Article 12 -A of the Town Law, WHEREAS, the establishment of Lansing Water District No. 1 was approved by the Department of Audit and Control by Order dated the 6th day of June, 1965; and WHEREAS, said district was established by final order of the Town Board adopted on the 12th day of July, 1965; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 196 df the Town Law, the plans for Lansing Water District No. 1 were modified by Order adopted August 9th, 1966, which modification was for the purchase of the Lansing Water Works Corporation assets for the sum of $260,000 in the place and stead of obtaining water from Bolton Point; and WHEREAS, application was made to the Department of Audit and Control for an Order approving the increase of the maximum amount to be expended for the improvements of Lansing Water District No. 1 from the said $900,000 to $1,075,000; and 1 1 WHEREAS, the Controller of the State of New York, by Order dated the 17tj day of October 1968 has approved the increase of such maximum amount from $900,000 to $l,075f000 *and WHEREAS, the increase in the maximum amount to be expended is due to the increase in construction costs which have accelerated beyond the average of 5% - 6% per annum, and due to the purchase of the assets of Lansing Water Works Corporation pursuant to the Order of the Water Resources Commission; and WHEREAS, there has been no change in the map, plans and specifications of the original district as approved and adopted by the Town Board except at modified pursuant to Order in August of 1966, NOW ON MOTION OF Councilman Kidney , :'seconded by Justice Ferris it is hereby ORDERED, that the Town Board of the Town of Lansing shall meet and hold a public hearing at the Town Hall in said Town on the 6th day of November 19689 at 8:00 o'clock p.m. on that date to consider and to hear,all persons interested on the proposed increase in the maximum amount to be expended for the improvement of Lansing Water District No. 1, from $9001000 to $1,075,000, and to take such action thereon as is required and authorized by law. The adoption of the foregoing Order was duly put to a vote and upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Harris B.
