The Lansing Town Board. met in regular session at the Lansing
Town Hall on August 15, 1967 at 8 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presid.ing.

MOTION was made by Mr. Spry and. seconded. by Mr. Howell that
the minutes of the July.,meetings as submitted. by the Town Clerk be
approved.. I Carried.
Mr. Frank Horvath mad.e inquiry in regard. to the proposed, road.
which he has previously requested. the Town Board. to consider. After
d.iscussion, the Board. stated. that they would, consider accepting a
road. if built to specifications when presented. to them on two
conditions; 1) that it have a 20'0 fte temporary turn around. and.
2 ) that the Town be dedicated. a 50 fte right -of -way or a bonafide
agreement from a land. owner to guarantee that eventually the said.
proposed. road. would. be a through- road..
Mr. Kim' Davis requested. the Board to consid.er an informal
referendum being held. on Election Day in ord.er that-the Lansing
voters could. state their opinion by ballot if they were in favor
or not in favor of Planning and. Zoning for the Town. Atty. Williamson
questioned. the legality of a proposition being held at a General
Election which would result only in d.etermining the sentiments of
the people, however, he will research and. write for an informal
opinion.
Supervisor Dates reported. that Engineer's from Albany would.
meet informally, Thursday, August 17th at 11 A.M. with Town officials
in regard. to the State School und.er consid.eration on the site owned.
by the Watchtower Bible and. Tract Society on Route 340 'Councilman
Howell suggested. that the Engineer's be encourged. to thoroughly
investigate the possibility of obtaining their water supply from the
Myers well of Lansing Water District #2.
The progress to d.ate on the formation of Proposed. Lansing Sewer
District #2 was discussed in detail. Supervisor Dates stated. that the
Village of Cayuga Heights has agreed. in principle to accept the proposed
district into its sewer plaint system. Atty. Williamson explained. in
detail the proposed. agreement which has-been drawn up- between the
Town of Lansing and. the Lansing Terrace Apartments Inc., in regard
to Proposed Sewer District #2. After d.iscussion by the Board. the
following Motion was offered.::
. MOTION mad.e by Mr. Spry and. second.ed. by Mr. Howell: That the
proposed agreement between the Town of Lansing on behalf of Lansing
Sewer Dist. #2 and the Lansing Terrace Apartments Inc. is approved
subject to 1) the formation of Lansing Sewer District #2 and 2) that
said district as formed includ.es at least the area shown on Lansing
Sewer District #2 petition plan dated. June 26, 1965 made by O'Brien
and. Gere and the Supervisor is authorized to execute same on behalf
of the town,

MOTION mad.e by Mr. Howell, and. second.ed. by Mr. Spry : To authorize
the Supervisor to contact the Village of Cayuga Heights for future
sewerage service beyond. Sewer District #1 and Proposed. Sewer Dist. #2.
Carried.
Mr. Cecil Shulman, property owner in the southeast part of the
town suggested. the Town Board. look into build.ing its own sewer plant.
Atty. illiamson informed the board. of the
y. progress of the
Schoenfeld. Development in regard to water and. sewer extension, map
dated. October 31, 1966.
Mr. Howell offered. the following resolution and. moved. its adoption.
RESOLVED that state lottery tickets be sold. during business
hours at the Lansing Town Hall.

Discussion followed. at which time Mr. Spry stated, that he felt_
it undesirable to gamble in government buildings,

Letters read, from Mr. Dean Weibly and. Mr. & Mrs. Carl Long con-
cerning the Lansing Park,
Letter read from Harry S. Hamilton, Atty. regarding Sewer_ District
being extended to St. Joseph's Lane.
Letter read. from M.H. Thaler, partner of Northeast Co,., advising
the Town of Lansing that Northeast Co. has no objection to vehicles
and. equipment owned. by the Townof� Lansing using the parking,,,lot area
of Northeast Co. ' for the purpose-of turning around. and. , maneuvering
vehicles at the-end, of the street which the Town of Lansing is to.
'receive title to from Otto Schoenfeld.. This is the street which runs
north and south.extend.ing from Sheraton Drive to Route 13,
Planning Board. Chairman, James Showacre, reported. that Herbert
Ley had resigned from the Lansing Planning Board.. Appointment to
- replace Mr,•Ley will be made at the September meeting.
Assessor Chairman Kenneth Tarbell reported that the full value
of taxable property this year would. be approximately $65 million
in comparison with 59 million last year, the difference due to new
construction and. the new countywide reappraisal figures.
Supervisor Dates presented his monthly report and. explained,
same in detail.
Mr. Kidney offered. the following Resolution and, moved. its
adoption.
RESOLVED, that the following persons be appointed. Republican
Inspectors'of Election in the 2nd. district from July 15, 1967 to
July 15, 1968.
