The question of whether it would be more beneficial economically for the town to purchase the present plant from the apartment site, which could be -used as a stand-by and -have the apartment dwellings included in the proposed district, was carefully considered. At this time, Mr. Kerr;- Attorney for the Lansing Apartments, stated that Mr. Talandis did hold a permit from the State giving him permission to operate his own system, and with an investment which would be less expensive than being in the new proposed sewer district, could continue to operate for several years. Mr. Kerr did state, however, that Mr. Talandis would sell his plant, which would include building, laterals, lines etc, to the town for $25,000.00 and have his apartment site included in the new proposed sewer district. After much discussion, the board requested Atty's Kerr and Williamson to draft a. contract for the board to consider. Proposed Lansing Sewer District, ,#2 will be established on a benefit basis. -Said cost will be a combination of front footage, valuation and unit basis.
