HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-06-14Mr. Howell offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLVED that Justice Ferris and Spry be authorized to attend the one day school held by the Judicial Conference in Buffalo, N.Y. on July lst a.nd all legitimate expenses be a town charge. Seconded by Mr. Kidney. Unanimously carried. Mr. Spry offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be authorized to purchase ten new ballot boxes from the Board of Elections, Seconded by Mr. Howell. Unanimously carried. Planning Board Chairman, James Showacre, presented to the Town Board the studies and proposals that the Planning Board had made in regard to dead -end roads being constructed in the Town. Following a lengthy discussion, the Town -Board concluded that further study was needed before any dhanges in the present policy could be altered. Mr. Howell made inquiry concerning the general maintenance of the Bill George Road extension. Mr. Howell also requested the Town Clerk to check the minutes of all Town Board meetings for the past six years to determine if any discussion or resolution had ever been made'in regard to the•.Bower Road Bridge. A copy of any record concerning said Bower Road Bridge should be submitted to Glenn Sill and the Town Board., Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen recommended that old Ford trucks be replaced with an F-JD Model. Mr. Sharpsteen also requested the Town Board to meet with he and Mr. Schoenfeld to discuss road problem and solution to same. Meeting schediiled for June 24th, Saturday at 8 A.M. Supervisor Dates presented his monthly report and explained same in detail. Filed with Town Clerk, AU'7IT RESO?;UTTON by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Spry: RESOLVED that General Fund bills #109 thro ;142 totalling $ 8,833.05 and Highway Fund bills 41.56 thro 189 totalling $ 15,889.82 be and the same are hereby approved for payment. Carried The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P.M. Town Clerk June 14, 1967 A Public Information Meeting for proposed Lansing Sewer District #2 was held June 14, 1967 at 8 P.M. in the Lansing Town Hall, So. Lansing. Town Board members present were Harris Dates, Supervisor, Charles Howell and James Kidney, Councilmen, Robert Williamson, Town Attorney and Wanda Brink, Deputy Town Clerk, Ithaca Journal Reporter, Patricia Nordheimer and approximately thirty Lansing residents were also present. Mr. Dennis Moran, Engineer from O'Brien and Gere, outlined the boundaries, costs a.nd existing sewer lines in detail, A question and answer period followed. Mr. Moran explained the next step would be the drafting and circulating of a.formal petition and scheduling of a legal hearing. The meeting was adjourned at 10:40 P.M. Dep ty Town Clerk
