The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at the Lansing Town Hall on
June 13, 1967 at 8 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presiding.

MOTION was made by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Kidney that the minutes
of the May meetings as submitted by the Town Clerk be approved.

Mr. Carl Crandall, Engineer for M.P. Catherwood, explained in detail the
map'and financial angles involved in regard to the "Proposed Water Service to
Lansing - Highgate Subdivision."
Mr. Ferris offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLVED, that the Town of Lansing hereby grants and releases an easement
and right of way unto the New York State Electric and Gas Corp, 20 feet in width
throughout its extent, situate, lying and being as follows: The center line of
said electric line and width of right of way enters Grantor's land.from North
Triphammer Road at a point about 37 feet Southerly of Grantor's Northerly
property line and extends in an Easterly direction about 230 feet to a pole
to be installed at a point about 26 feet Southerly of Grantor's Northerly
property line together with a service to the Lansing Water Pumping 'Station.
Seconded by Mr. Kidney.
Unanimously carried.
Mr. Howell offered the following resolution as required by Section 220,
Article 8 -A Highway Law.
RESOLVED, that the plan prepared at the request of this Board for the
improvement of town highways, namely the Munson Road and Brooks Road be
designated as Irwin Roads for the year 1968, and covering all projects
contemplated by it, pursuant to Article 8-A Highway Law, as filed in the
office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Lansing, County of Tompkins, be and
the same is hereby adopted; and be it further
RESOLVED that copies-of such plan be filed in the appropriate State and
County offices in accordance with the provisions of Section 220, Article 8 -A
Highway Law.
Seconded by Mr. Ferris.
Unanimously carried.
The Clerk informed the Board that a copy of the order of the State Comptroller
granting the application of the Town Board, of the Town of Lansing for permission
to establish 1--fater District No. 2, had been received.
The Clerk presented the names of Election Inspectors submitted by the
Chairmen of the Republican and Democratic Parties for their approval for the
1967 -1968 term. The Board examined said lists, however, withheld approval
until the July meeting.
Clerk read letter from Lansing Fire District in regard to the new Lansing
Water System and its importance to fire protection.
Clerk read letter from Richard Thaler in regard to the Northeast Co. and
the City of Ithaca water system.
Mr. Tarbell, Assessor, announced that Grievance Day would be held on
June 27th from 10 A.M. until 4 P.M. Cards are being mailed to all property owners.
Mr. Howell offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLVED that Justice Ferris and Spry be authorized to attend the one day
school held by the Judicial Conference in Buffalo, N.Y. on July 1st and all
legitimate expenses be a town charge.
Seconded by Mr. Kidney. Unanimously carried;.
Mr. Spry offered the following resolution and moved its adoption
RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be authorized to purchase ten new ballot boxes
from the Board of Elections.
Seconded by Mr. Howell. Unanimously carried:
Planning Board Chairman, James Showacre, presented to the Town Board the
studies and proposals that the Planning Board had made in regard to dead-end
roads being constructed in the Town. Following a lengthy discussion, the Town
Board concluded that further study was needed before any changes in the present
policy could be altered.
Mr. Howell made inquiry concerning the general maintenance of thejBill
George Road extension. Mr. Howell also requested the Town Clerk to cheek the
minutes of all Town Board meetings for the past six years to determine,if any
discussion or resolution had ever been made 'in regard to the' Bower Road. Bridge.
A copy of any record concerning said Bower Road Bridge should be submitted to
Glenn Sill and the Town Board.

Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen recommended that old Ford trucks be
replaced with an FAdD Model. Mr. Sharpsteen also requested the Town Board
to meet with he and Mr. Schoenfeld to discuss road problem and solution to
same. Meeting scheduled for June 24th, Saturday at 8 A.M.
Supervisor Dates presented his monthly report and explained same in detail.

AIMIT RFSOLtJTTON by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Spry:
RESOLVED that General Fund bills #109 thro ;142 totalling $ 8,833.05
and Highway Fund bills #156 thro# 189 totalling $15,888.82 be and the Blame i
are hereby approved for payment.

A Public Information Meeting for proposed Lansing Sewer District #2 was
held June 14, 1967 at 8 P.M. in the Lansing Town Hall, So. Lansing. Town
Board members present were Harris Dates, Supervisor, Charles Howell and
James Kidney, Councilmen, Robert Williamson, Town Attorney and Wanda Brink,
Deputy Town Clerk. Ithaca. Journal Reporter, Patricia Nordheimer and
approximately thirty Lansing residents were also present.
Mr. Dennis Moran, Engineer from O'Brien and Gere, outlined the boundaries,
costs and existing sewer lines in detail.
A question and answer period followed. C.

Mr. Moran explained the next step would be the drafting and circulating
of a formal petition and,scheduling of a. legal hearing..
