The Lansing Town.Board met in Special Session May 31, 1967 at 7:30 P.M.
at the Lansing Town Hall with Supervisor Dates presiding. All -Board Members
were duly notified of said meeting.

The Water Superintendent and the .Board discussed in detail the hazardous
situation existing in regard to the well at Esty Point, after which time the
following resolution was offered:
I- FEREAS, the Water Superintendent has advised the Town Board that an
emergency exists with the Lansing Water Supply in that the cribbing surrounding
the well on Cayuga Lake has washed away leaving the well exposed to the Lake
and the elements; and
✓LHEREAS, the Water Superintendent has obtained a bid in the amount of
$1,590.00 from the C.E. Smith Marine. Construction & Salvage Co. of Cortland,
New York for the construction of a bulkhead around. the.Lansing pump house,
now therefore be it
RESOLVED on motion by Mr. Howell, seconded by Mr. Spry that the ;Board
determines an emergency does exist in that the pump house bulkhead6•tiave
washed away and immediate repair is required and be it further
RESOLVED that the laid of C.E. Smith Marine Construction & Salvage Co.
in the amount of $1,590.00 for construction of bulkheads around the Lansing
pump house be and same hereby is accepted on behalf of Lansing WateriDist,
l and the ?,dater Superintendent is authorized and directed to complete the
transaction on behalf of Lansing Water District fl,

Mr. Kidney offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLVED, that the plans and specifications on additional water facilities
on the so- called Catherwood property for an estimated $70,000.00, pursuant to
Sec. 202B of the Town Lacy be approved; and be it further
RESOLVED, that June 19, 1967 at 8 p.m. in the evening be the date set
for a Public Hearing on said approved plans and specifications.
Seconded by ?'fir. Spry. Discussion followed.
Unanimously carried.

OF
FACILITIES
- LANSING
WATER DISTRICT NO.

WHEREAS, plans and specifications, and estimated costs,
have been submitted to the Town Board for the acquisition and
construction on behalf of Lansing Water District No. 1, of
additional facilities therefor and appurtenances thereto
consisting of additional water mains and appurtenances, the
general description of the proposed improvement being briefly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at the existing water mains on lands owned by
Lansing Terrace Apartments, Inc., and Karl D. an& Mollie E. Butl
and M.P. Catherwood, following a right -of -way owned by the Town
of Lansing, for a more particular descripti ®n of which reference
is made to a map made by Thomas G. Miller, Engineer and Surveyor,
Ithaca, New York, entitled, "Proposed Water Service To Lansing-
Highgate Subdivision ", dated February 1967, a copy of which map
together with plans and estimated cost of said proposed
improvements are filed with the Town Clerk of the ,Town of Lans
and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said acquisition and
construction of additional water facilities and appurtenances
is $70,000, and
WHEREAS, the said Town Board believes said increased
facilities will be the public interest, it is hereby
ORDERED, that a meeting of the Town Board of the Town of
Lansing will be held on the 19th day of June, 1967; at 8 p.m.
in the evening thereof, in the Town Hall of said Town, to
consider any hear all persons interested in the subject thereof,
concerning the same, and for such action on the part of said .,
Town Board, with relation to said project as may be required by
law or proper in the premises.
