Visitors: Frank Horvath, Robert Gibbs and Marshall Volbrecht.
14 MOTION was made by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Spry that the minutes of the
December 21, 1966 meeting as submitted by the Town Clerk be approved.
Carried
Frank Horvath spoke in.regard to a proposed road, approximately 13401, that
he would like to build for a development project and eventually have the town
accept as a town road. The.Board to meet with Mr. Horvath and go over site and
plans before any decision is made.
RESOLUTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Ferris:
RESOLVED that Myers Road extending from Route 34B passing through Myers and
returning to Route 34B be known as Myers Road,

MOTION by.Mr..Spry and.seconded by Mr. Howell to submit application for
permit to maintain and operate swimming pool.

Dicussion held on the Lansing dump. Mr. Ferris reported that David Beckley
had offered to attend to the dump once a week for a sum of $800.00 for the year.
Mr. Ferris agreed to supervise the operation.
RESOLUTION by Mr. Ferris and seconded by Mr. Spry: To engage David Beckley
to care for the Lansing Town Dump for 1967 for the sum of $800.00.

Discussion held concerning the.dumpi;ng of debris on the Bower Road by the
Kingdom Farm. Mr. Spry to contact Tompkins County Health Dept. regarding problem.
Mr. Tarbell explained procedures for persons over 65 years of age with
limited incomes on. filing applications, for partial.tax exemptions. He also
reported that the Assessors have gone over several sections in regard to the
new Cleminshaw's valuations and their examinations to date have been very
satisfactory. More meetings have been planned to complete their check.
Clerk read letter from Post Office Department regarding the possibility of
consolidating the post offices in the Town of Lansing.
Clerk read letter from the City of Ithaca concerning our request for
additional water service to serve Schoenfeld Apartments and the theatre building.
• Clerk read letter from Richard Thaler regarding Water District ##1. Letter also
read from M.P. Catherwood. tiA r -
RESOLUTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Spry:
RESOLVED that the Supervisor be authorized and directed to have the Town
records audited by Maxfield, Randolph and Carpenter and file his report under
(Town Law 181 (3)0

officials be approved as to the amount and company.

MOTION made by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Kidney that Kenneth A. Tarbell
be appointed Chairman of Assessors for 1967.

The Supervisor appointed the four Fire Chiefs of the Town of Lansing as
Fire Wardens.
Attorney for the Town:
MOTION by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Ferris that Attorney for the Town be on
as a needed basis and that Robert Williamson be consulted as needed.

RESOLUTION by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Howell that salaries of Town
Officers as compiled in the General Town Budget for 1967 be as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be authorized to pay the above salaries
on the 15th day of each month and the last payroll December 15, 1967, salaries to
be adjusted to meet budget requirements.

Mileage Allowance:
RESOLUTION by Mr. Ferris and seconded by Mr. Kidney that the Town Officers
and Highway Supt. be allowed the sum of 10¢ per mile for the use of their
automobiles in..the performance of their official duties.

Rules of Order:
RESOLUTION by Spry and seconded by Mr. Howell that Robert's Rule of Order be
followed, however, when special roll call votes are requested, voting to be in
alphabetical order and the Supervisor voting last.

Time of Regular Board Meetings:
MOTION by Mr: Ferris and seconded by Mr. Kidney that the Regular Board
Meetings of the Lansing Town Board be held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month
at 8 P.M.

Designation of Official Newspaper:
I. MOTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Ferris that the Ithaca Journal be
designated as the-official newspaper for the Town of Lansing.

Designation of Bank Depository for Town Funds:
RESOLUTION by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Kidney that the Tompkins Co.
Trust Co. and the First National Bank be designated as the depositories for the
Town of Lansing funds.

Authorization for Highway Superintendent to purchase items:
RESOLUTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Spry that the Highway Superin_
tendent be authorized to purchase equipment, tools and implements, tires and
tubes in the-amount of $500.00 without prior approval.

RESOLUTION by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Howell that the Town Board and
Town Officials be authorized to attend meeting in New York on February 6,7, and
8, 1967 and that necessary expenses be a town charge. Mr. Spry names delegate
andAMr. Ferris: named alternate.

Appointment of Committees:
It was decided by the Board that the Town Board would act as a committee of
one -on all town problems.
RESOLUTION by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Ferris:
WHEREAS it is the intention of the Town Board of the Town of Lansing to
establish a Youth Recreation project and
WHEREAS the Town Board of the Town of Lansing is about to submit an
application for such project to the N.Y.S. Youth Commission for its approval,
reimbursement of funds expended on said project as provided by Chapter 56 of the
Laws of 1945 as amended; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that such application is in all respects approved and Harris B. Dates,
Supervisor, is hereby directed and authorized to duly execute and to present said
application to the N.Y.S. Youth Commission for approval. -
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
