Visitors: Reporter Patricia Nordheimer, Mrs. Carl Boothroyd, Mrs. John L Miller,
Mrs, John Willman, Mr. Ernest Cole, Robert Boehlecke and Larry Tvaroha.
The meeting was called to order by Harris Dates, Supervisor.
.MOTION was made by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Ferris that the minutes of the
September 13th meeting as submitted by the Town Clerk be approved.

The Supervisor introduced County Extension Agent Ernest Cole. Mr. Cole presented
an outline of a community appraisal compiled by the Tompkins County Resource Develop-
ment Committee in regard to changes brought on by improvements in technology,
transportation, communication, education, etc.,- and what effect and problems these
changes have made on communities economically and socially. Mr.. Cole said groups
interested in better understanding and reacting to these changing situations,should
contact the County Extension Service and programs will be outlined and planned.

Figures relating to the 1967 preliminary budget were discussed.
Supervisor Dates reminded the Board that the Preliminary Budget hearing would
be held November lst at 8 P.M. and the hearing on the Proposed Local Law dissolving
the Lansing Park Commission at 9:30 P.M.. The regular Town Board Meeting for
movember will be held on November lst also, due to General Election being held on
our regular board meeting date.
Mrs. Miller was introduced and spoke in behalf of persons interested in town
zoning and planning for residents living in the southern part of the town. Many
persons in this area are worried concerning what might come into the town without
resitrictions and are anxious to work on planning before it is too late.
Atty. Williamson brought the board up -to -date on the legal matters concerning
Water District #1 and Water District #2..
Lands in the process of being purchased from Charles Terpening and Watch Tower
Bible and Tract Society were discussed.
Supervisor Dates noted that the Tompkins County Sewer Agency, Mayor Marcham
and Engineers O'Brien and Gere had met and the County Sewer program at present is
not moving very rapidly. Ways ,of arranging for sewage disposal with Cayuga Heights
are now being examined.
Highway Superintendent stated that the Irwin. Roads are nearly completed.
RESOLUTION by Mr. Howell and seconded by Mr. Ferris: To move the voting
of District #1 from the old Ludlowville Town Hall to the Lansing Central School,
The Supervisor presented his monthly report and explained same in detail.
AUDIT RESOLUTION by Mr. Ferris and seconded by Mr. Ferris:
RFSOLtrED that General Fund bills #163 through # 180 totalling $3,004.77
and Highway Fund bills #256 through # 280 totalling $14,046.12 be and. the same
are hereby approved for payment.
