W February 17,� 1966 Lao9 The Lansing Town Board met in regular session at the Lansing Town Hall on February 17, 1966 at 8 P.M. with Supervisor Dates presiding. Harris B. The Supervisor opened the meeting having the Clerk take the Roll Call. MOTION was made by Mr. Spry and seconded by Mr. Ferris that the minutes as submitted by the Town Clerk be approved. Carried Mr. Dates brought the Board up -to -date on the progress of the Tompkins County Sewer Agency. Public Hearings on said Agency will start in April at which time boundaries will be established, cost to individuals etc. will be discussed. Mr. Dates stated that Mr.Kemble and Mr. Buckley have been appointed as representatives to serve on the Steering Committee for the Tompkins County Economic Opportunity Act, A discussion was held on a future site .for a proposed Town Highway Maintenance Building. Mr. Dates appointed Mr. Kidney and Mr. Howell to work with the Highway Superintendent to investigate suitable locations. Atty.lq!illiamson advised the Board that Atty's. Adams, LoPinto and himself are in the process of drawing up a contract, to meet the satisfaction of all concerned, for the Town of Lansing to negotiate with the Lansing Water Works Corp. to purchase their water facilities. After discussion by the board, the following resolution was offered: RESOLUTION by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Spry: ti :7 • i 0 February 17, 1966 Continued RESOLVED, that the Town Board °hold a public hearing, March 8, 1966, 8 :30 P.M. at the Lansing Town Hall, relative to the adoption of an ordinance regarding regulating and licensing hawkers and peddlers selling goods, wares and merchandise and soliciting orders-for same in the Town of Lansing. Carried, all present voted Aye. The Board discussed the possibility of the Town issuing Building Permits. Atty. Williamson to check into this procedure and report back. Highway Superintendent Sharpsteen and the Board discussed in detail* the bids for the Road Roller which were opened February 11, 1966. After said discussion, the following resolution was offered: RESOLUTION by Mr. Kidney and seconded by Mr. Spry: RESOLVED, that the Highway Superintendent be authorized and directed ' to award the bid to Charles J. Blackwell, Inc., in the amount of $12,924.00, trade -in allowance $1,637.•00 net, delivery price $11,287.00,• this being the lowest bid meeting all specifications. Supervisor presented his monthly report and explained same in detail. Filed with Town Clerk. AUDIT RESOLUTION by Mr. Spry and-seconded by-Mr. Ferris: RESOLVED, that General Fund bills #11 through #30 totalling $ 7,980.43; and Highway Fund bills #22 through Y'54 totalling $37 „P23.
